They need a better chef! Take an example of Roast potatoes.... I ordered last night... I got some oily pan fried burned potatoes..

Stayed for an enjoyable week in Gullane and seeing the reviews we thought we'd splash out and try The Main course for dinner. Our main and lasting impression is how unfriendly we all felt the service was. We were marched to our table by a waiter and throughout the meal the interaction was frosty. The cocktails and food were good but the atmosphere is terrible and left a lasting impression. It took away from the enjoyment of the food which was just OK. The cocktails were great, my husband had a rigatoni with fennel sausage which he enjoyed but the seafood linguine was in a very sweet sauce, which was a little odd tasting. The others had pizzas which they enjoyed . Overall, an expensive meal in a hostile environment

Uncreative menu exemplified by poor kitchen performance. Very unremarkable meal for our entire party. Despite preferring pasta cooked Al Dente, three dishes ordered included clearly undercooked pasta. My ravioli (stuffed with unflavoured mince) required cutting with a knife. Accompanying sauces all suggested they came from a can/bottle. Despite previous good reviews I think this just underlines how easy pleased some diners are. All in all not worth stopping and/or incurring overpriced substandard cooking /and food. Stay well clear and keep off the main course!

Excellent Italian restaurant in Gullane, a favourite place to take our Mum when we went to see her. Always very accommodating of people with limited mobility.
Called in for lunch but ended up eating off the a la carte menu. The food was really good with reasonably sized portions and the sweets were similar. It’s our first time there but well worth calling back again.

Small portions and not great value for money. Wouldn’t return for that reason. Waiter was lovely though but £154 for 2 starters, 4 mains, 3 soft drinks and some bread seems excessive

We enjoyed a family birthday dinner on a busy Saturday evening. However on arrival we were seated in a rather narrow sun room area which was very bright at 7pm in August and seemed very incongruous to the main part of the restaurant. The area was separated from the main body of the restaurant at the back of the building by a narrow corridor where the toilets are. Frankly it felt like an overflow section and completely lacked the ambience and restaurant experience which we expected and also remember that is what you are paying for as well as good food ! The food however was very good but this isn't just what you are paying for and had I known we were to be seated there I certainly would not have booked this for a special birthday dinner. We did ask to be moved to the main part of the restaurant but were told the only table free was reserved. Unfortunately this ruined what would otherwise have been a lovely evening. Most disappointing . In future will asked to be guaranteed to be seated within the body of the restaurant or just not go at all !
