Popped in on the off chance on Sunday and nothing was a problem , food was outstanding along with great service and a warm relaxing atmosphere , no hesitation in recommending the place and already looking forward to going back

We turned up for a drink, but after half an hour sat outside and asked for a menu. During the next hour we sat and watched 3 other tables have their orders taken, yet nobody approached us. It is not our job to seek service. Very poor pub

Great menu and the food is delicious. The service is superb and the restaurant is in a lovely old building with a good view of St Mary's Church and the river from the tables outside. Dog friendly.

Six of us booked for a NY girls catch up and all great. All food was excellent, good menu choices & additional specials on board. Good cup of coffee to finish off? Lovely wee restaurant with good service, food & friendly staff...Will definitely be back & would recommend.

Extremely disappointed at the Turkey & trimmings - - few pieces of boiled potatoes , couple of pieces of carrots , the rest was mush on a plate - looked awful too - Waiter brought the wrong item for one child and a long wait til it was ready . Poor service especially as it was quiet - very disappointed especially as it was supposed to be a special lunch

Have eaten here with family and friends on a number of occasions and I am very impressed with the quality of food, the service and value for money. The set menu is unbelievable value and the staff are efficient and friendly.

First time visit with my wife whilst in Haddington seeing family & it won't be the last. It has an Italian themed menu & we enjoyed an excellent Lasagne & rustic style Pizza served for our main course with a great choice of various ice cream deserts to follow; will certainly be back.

We made a last minute impromptu visit to the Tyneside Tavern yesterday and had to write a review! We visited, with our rather friendly cockapoo, and were welcomed with such warmth and friendliness. The bar manager and two bar staff were so lovely and attentive. Made us feel like we were regulars! And we could see why they clearly have so many regulars. The menu had lots of tasty sounding dishes but we went for one of the specials (lobster ravioli) which was delish! Beautifully made & presented. The beer and wine was lovely too. Super dog friendly, our cockapoo was treated to doggy biscuits, a bowl of water & plenty affection from the staff. This just made us feel all the more welcome. Thank you Tyneside Tavern for a delightful impromptu lunch. We will definitely be back!

We were visiting Haddington so came here for dinner. We got the warmest possible welcome from the three young servers in the restaurant. Served by Sam, he told us the carbonara was made the authentic way by his father the chef. We ordered it and it was delicious. Really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the friendly team / helpful staff. We’ll be back for sure. Thanks for such a lovely time and for such great service.

Struggling to find somewhere for lunch on Saturday when came across this restaurant on Google. Rang first to ask if they could cope with a gluten free vegetarian and was told it was no bother, and table would be waiting for us. That was the first gold star - so many places hum and haw, grudgingly say they might be able to "sort something out" - often resorting to a cheese salad or a baked potato. Arrived at this lovely old building close to the river, very cosy atmosphere - unfussy, immaculately clean, and friendly feel to it. Warmly welcomed, offered both a la carte menu and their special 3 course lunch one, and told cheerfully that they could make virtually all of their vegetarian options gluten free. WOW! Been a long time since we found anywhere as accommodating. We were impressed with both menus, but some lovely choices on the 3 course lunch, and it did not disappoint. Bruschetta (one GF, the other not), spag bol for the carnivore and a divine creamy pasta bake with broccoli and peas through it, with a side of gf garlic bread. There were quite a few other people in, but service was excellent, though not rushed at all, giving you time to savour the food and relax between courses. Desserts on offer were ice cream sundae and cheesecake. I wasn't unduly fazed by the prospect of having to settle for ice cream, since it was Di Rollos, which is very good. But what a bonus to be told that the ginger cheesecake was also gluten free - a rare treat indeed. And it too was creamy and delicious. At every step this establishment rose in our estimation. And the lunch deal was ridiculously good value. Not complicated - just very good food, beautifully cooked and presented by owners who have put a great deal of thought into their menu and care about making customers feel welcome and respected. For someone who often has been made to feel like a nuisance, this was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back. Can't praise them highly enough.

Just had an excellent pre Christmas Take Away Meal. Would have preferred to eat in house but present circumstances made this impossible. Well done to all the staff for a very efficient service and a well presented meal .

12 golfers on a weeks break and so fortunate to visit the Tyneside tavern. Italian themed food, beautifully cooked and presented, we became regulars and to be honest it has been a drag returning home we miss the atmosphere, the menu and the service so much. Our thanks to Paul for making us feel so welcome and if any of us can point anyone in the direction of the Tyneside Tavern we surely will. You made our holiday, the absolute icing on the cake.
