The service was first class. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was appetising and nicely presented as were the drinks. The toilets could be improved. The toilets were very clean but there was an underlying stale odour. I noticed the same unpleasant smell the last twice I have visited.

Great food, clean and value for money. One star off as we waited at the sign saying 'wait to be seat'. We were ignored. We had to eventually go to the bar to be seated.

One of the best dog friendly eating places we have found. Dog bowls ,free doggy biscuits and the staff are genuinely happy to see your dog. We shared a pizza…highly recommend and the triple cooked chips are fab. Thank you all,we had a great meal.

If you want a warm welcome and friendly service, this is not the place for you. Got in at 10.15 on a Friday evening and was informed that last orders were at 10.30. There were quite a few people in the bar and at 1 o'clock sharp, the bar staff went round the tables telling people to drink up and standing over them waiting for the glasses. Most uncomfortable and certainly not my idea of hospitality.

Was there on 23rd of may for a lunch and the food was fabulous really tasty I personally had the pizza homemade with triple cooked chips delicious. Everyone in the party said the same plus the 2 waiters one with black shirt and one with blue shirt were very polite. Will definitely be going back in the future 10/10

The Commodore is an excellent place to come for lunch/dinner , the food is delicious and the staff are warm and welcoming and The Commodore is so Disabled friendly with everywhere we went it was all on the flat and lots of space for my wife’s wheelchair to get by.

We held a family funeral wake here yesterday and just wanted to pass on our thanks to everyone at the Commodore. The food was lovely - piping hot and fresh, everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were just amazing - polite, courteous and friendly and extremely sensitive to the fact it was a funeral function - naturally it was a somber affair however the staff went out of their way to make sure all our needs were catered for. It was also very nice not to feel rushed - we felt welcome to stay and use the function room for as long as we needed. Thank you so much - it was a very nice end to the most difficult of days and you should be very proud of your staff.

A really nice place to eat or drink. A large beer garden with great views. The bar and restaurant has a nice relaxing feel. A good selection of drinks at the bar and an excellent choice on the menu. Also a dog friendly establishment. While a bit more expensive then most places locally for what you get I personally think it was worth it!

Had a takeaway pizza today and it was rather pathetic and £13 for the tiny pizza? How disappointing.

Excellent menu with varied options food good with a good choice ,there is also a good choice on ales to wash down your fair with ,pet friendly and also a good sized beer garden opening on to the promanade. Staff very friendly well done to team vintage inns .
