We dropped by here for a late Saturday lunch and were lucky to get a table. The place looks great and the food was tasty. However when I asked about what beers they have, the waiter was adamant that lager is not beer, which is obviously not true. Also, if you're going to hand out little feedback cards, then you should also hand out pens to write on them with. So for these 2 last things, -1 star, but it was a good experience and we'd consider coming back whenever we're in the area again.Parking: There is a paid parking lot across the street. It's 50p per hour and we've seen 2 people get fined for not paying parking while we were eating, so don't think you'll park there without paying and get away with it. It's very reasonably priced so it's not worth risking it.

We went to The Fennel to have lunch on a Friday afternoon at 2:15. Upon entering the restaurant I asked the server if we could sit in a booth. He went to ask the gentleman behind the counter and he said no. “ Someone else wants to sit there” and then offered me a table at the bottom of the stairs. The restaurant was quiet but he had somewhat of an attitude about my request. But the most disturbing thing was the woman standing next to him behind the counter smiled as she saw as I was not happy with the table I was offered. Why would the staff take such delight in saying “no”.. We walked out as we felt we probably would not of received good service because of their attitude. Not welcoming and quite cold first impression

Absolutely amazing place, mums birthday was made even more fantastic by the amazing food at Fennel -I had the flat iron steak which was cooked to perfection also perfectly presented and wonderful service provided by this establishment which clearly has exceptional standards of the highest quality!
