At around 2pm, I was told that no food would be provided, only ice cream and drinks could be taken away.

We visited Millport for the day and after a nice visit we saw this lovely wee cafe that reminded me of a 80s dinner. Reading the dessert menu the milkshakes sounded great. Under milkshake it said in the menu, choose any chocolate bar it can be put into your milkshake. So I asked how this can be done and was told either the chocolate can be blended or heated up. Which i says ok heat it up and I also asked to put whipped cream on top. What was served to me was basically 2 wee Reece’s Cups in a bowl with a squirt of skooshy cream?. Ok cmon ? £5 Reece’s cups cost £1.25 everyone knows this. It’s slowly dawned on me this is a secret idea the Ritz has came up with to heat up bars of chocolate served with cream or ice cream. Fine aslong as it’s like what it says and it’s a BAR of chocolate not 2 wee daft cups that have been heated under the armpits of the waitress. Why would you even tell anyone you can heat up the bars of chocolate anyway. Just keep that to yourself. We had a good laugh at our expense. Maybe get heated maltesers next time ?

Having visited Millport annually for many years, I was so very disappointed to find that the Ritz Cafe is now pricing itself out of use...... Went in on hot day for an ice cream, Could not believe the price. Came to nearly £7 for 1 average cone of plain ice cream - no sprinkles or extras!! and a wafer... That's extortionate. To charge these prices is just suicide. The cafe itself is ok, eaten at tables before and it is an old, dated cafe, trying to hang on to some kind of charm of formica tables and no-nonsense menus but it still needs to be economical. Far too expensive. We will not be back,, I expect many others will be the same.

Visited with my son. The food was mediocre at best. The prices did NOT match the quality of food.£7 Burgers are paper thin from frozen, possibly from farm foods. Deep fried oily frozen chips, again farm foods quality.First red flag I should have seen was that there were more staff than customers.Vegetarian options: Very fewKid-friendliness: Kid portions sold at adult prices.Parking: NoneWheelchair accessibility: Non existent

Dropped in for some lunch. We both had beans and toast which was very good. Wide range of snacks, teas, milkshakes, coffees, sweeties and ice cream. Very popular with visitors to the island. Only downside that it has no toilets.

I would say the place was a great cafe & staff were polite but Are you charging The Ritz in London prices ? The price for food was ridiculous for a “cafe”. 4 drinks, a cheeseburger which was nearly £5 alone, two chips and cheese and a chips and gravy was £28. That’s mental. Could’ve went across to the hotel and got full meals for that price & use of a toilet which the cafe don’t have. Other than that the staff were friendly/helpful. The food was good and the place was clean. Can’t fault them for anything else.
