The food was lovely, I had applewood smoked cheese and pickle sandwich. My daughter had cheesy nachos. It was all lovely. The young gentleman who served us was lovely. But when it came to our order for 2 latte's and two strawberry tarts, the service died. Our strawberry tarts came, no coffees. We started to eat our strawberry tarts, still no coffees. I was watching the two girls who take the orders, payments and bring the coffees, teas. The two of them stood there chatting, no one went anywhere near the coffee maker. Half way through our strawberry tarts, my daughter went and asked where our coffees were. They were standing talking. A dark haired girl and a blonde. Our coffees arrive soon after that. As my daughter works in a very busy restaurant, as a supervisor, her rule is, cakes come out with or just before the coffee.

This is my first visit here and I really enjoyed it. As well as a lovely meal I loved the fresh organic, fruit & vegetables in the farm shop. Prices were good too.

Not been to Blacketyside for a while (couple of years) as it's a treat to go out for lunch. Met up with a friend for lunch as it's equidistant between us and had good memories from previous visits we had lunch here. It was a bit late for lunch and despite the car park being quite full we got a table quite quickly. And service was quick too despite it being school holidays. Friend ordered a bake potato with filling and I ordered a special of the day - steak pie with boiled potatoes & veg. Friend enjoyed the baked potato but the salad was limp and starting to brown so it was a bit of a shock the salad wasn't fresh as they grow their own being a farm! My steak pie (£8) came in a bowl and I wondered why until I started to eat it. Most of it was gravy and the boiled potatoes were good but there were a 'million' peas! I think I managed to find 1/2 piece of a slice of carrot. Added salt as not much flavour in the steak pie . But after adding more salt realised there was nothing that would improve the bland flavour. There was a bit of pastry stuck on top but it wasn't crispy. The coffee was good though. So overall quite disappointing.

Excellent value and produce. The strawberries have actual flavour and are very cheap, £2 for a roughly 400/500 gram punnet. So much better than the supermarkets, even with travel costs.

This place looks beautiful but I would definitely give the cafe a miss. The food is cold, dry and overcooked as well as the staff are cold, careless and slow. We arrived when it was relatively quiet but our food still took ages to come. It also arrived in stages so by the time the last plate arrived, the first person had already finished eating. We had also ordered desserts but we had to ask three times before I ended up having to go and get them from the counter myself. The staff don't acknowledge the issue or even apologise for the wait/mistakes and instead huddled by the cake counter and talked about us and another table that had received poor service. Can't tell you if anything else was good as we left as soon as we could due to the poor service.

After reading several recent Trip advisor reports, we entered with trepidation and wondered if this visit to Blacketyside might be over rather quickly. A smiling member of staff got us seated quickly and explained their recent changes to ordering. paying for and delivery of food. We aren't big fans of ordering and paying for food in advance (before seeing or eating it) but what was delivered to our table was very good in terms of presentation, taste and portion control. The staff appeared to be busy, although I get nervous when there isn't a manager clearly visible and leading the team during service. Overall it was a very good lunch and we will happily return when next in the area. It has grown in size since previous visits and they have changed their operating processes but the coronation chicken remains consistently tasty. The loo was also maintained to a high standard on the day, which can be challenging after a busy lunchtime service.

Very busy, popular for every aspect of the produce sold. Cafe popular for the food which is good. Only criticism is that the staff were not able to replenish the tables b retween customers

I ordered a delicious filled roll for breakfast with a pot of tea. Quickly served by polite staff. Had to queue for a while though.

The food was good and well priced but the service could have been better. You find a table then go to the till to order and pay, which was a slow process. You then wait for your food to arrive. The servers need to learn to smile and have a bit of banter with the customers.

Food was beautiful, service was good. Well stocked shop, though a tad expensive on some things. The fruit on sale is delicious

The aisles in the farm shop are quite narrow, so getting around people is difficult. There is a good range of products available and a Café on-site, which is child - and dog friendly. When we visited, it was quite busy, but the food and drinks were served very quickly.Kid-friendliness: There is a play park on-site, and high chairs are available in the CaféParking: There is a large car park outside the shop and an overflow car park next to it on a grass area. When we visited, there were vans and camper vans parked, and there was still a lot of parking available.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to enter the shop, and the cafe can be accessed from the car park and the shop

Really busy and staff were run off their feet and still very friendly and lovely. The food took ages to arrive and when it did it was a watery sad soup and a cheese and chutney toastie that had next to no cheese (literally just a couple of tiny bits spread out) and huge amounts of the most overpowering, sweet chutney. Basically a jam toastie. Had to leave both unfortunately.

Came here for a quick lunch as we were passing. Ordered a panini and macaroni from the Specials menu. Very tasty and served up promptly. Would visit again.

We could not find any disabled parking, and it was not easy for my wife to walk to the entrance .There was an area for parking before the extension . is this something that your planning to do ?

This farm shop and restaurant has expanded considerably since our last visit and it is by far the best shop of its kind we have ever encountered. Went in for a light lunch, which was excellent and came out loaded with fresh produce plus cakes and other sweet treats. It's on the main road between Leven and Lower Largo in Fife. Don't miss it.
