Fantastic restaurant with great food and great staff, I regularly visit for a takeaway as I live here. I can honestly say it is on of the best Indian Restaurants anywhere in the UK, well worth a visit if you are ever in the Lochgilphead area

We live locally and love this place. Top quality delicious food and really friendly personal service. We order from here regularly and have never been disappointed. Place smells amazing and is spotlessly clean.

Jealous I can't get Indian food this good near me in Glasgow. A constant stream of locals picking up takeaway, gorgeous flavours emanating from the kitchen, a sure sign it's a winner. Really enjoyed the food and very good and friendly serviceVegetarian options: Good veg options

Pretty average really. Greasy curry too much oil, take away box was swimming in it.

Best Indian takeaway I have ever tried , the chicken korma was absolutely delicious, the chicken just melts in your mouth and the korma sauce is the best I've ever had, the nan breads are also very tasty and the staff are so polite and friendly , thus place is a credit to lochgilphead

Fantastic wee Indian restaurant with delicious freshly cooked food and charming, efficient service. We had great pakora starters, followed by three excellent mains and a fantastic tarka dal, one of the best ever. We even had some fresh chillies on the side in case son's meal wasn't hot enough (not really needed, but welcome all the same). Crispy hot naan breads and perfect mushroom rice. Service was swift and lovely, with both the owner and a young lady looking after us. The owner also made recommendations to us of meals he thought we might enjoy, having heard our discussion. At the end of the meal, as we were chatting to the owner, the chef popped out to say hello too. Take your own alcohol - this tiny restaurant doesn't have a full licence, but they were very happy to provide us with glasses, bottle opener etc and to clear away our empties. The majority of the Taj Mahal is a takeaway, so there are only around 16 covers, in the front service area, quite brightly lit (but pretty table settings), people calling in for orders etc - probably not somewhere for a romantic first date. But if you want excellent food and service, in a spotlessly clean place, look no further. We will definitely be back.

Great place for an evening meal. There was a huge choice of dishes on the menu and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our meal arrived very quickly after being ordered and was delicious. They do not have an alcohol licence but you can bring your own and they have a good choice of soft drinks. The restaurant is quite small so at busier times it is probably best to book. They also do take aways.

Ate in here last week on a work trip and couldn’t have been better looked after by Mufasa and team. Was recommended bu local hotel and didn’t disappoint.
Booked the day before, got a table no problem. Really clean inside and seems to be busy with collections. We had the mixed tandoori and veg pakora starters, with a beautiful yellow sauce. Followed by garlic naan, two chicken dishes and two different rice's.Really tasty food and friendly staff, you can bring alcohol if you wish we didn't as they have a good selection of cans.Couldn't fault, would return.

Nice small restaurant with takeaway in the village. As we had dog with us so couldn’t eat-in, we just stopped to grab some takeaway chicken and veggie pakora (£9.95 for both). Decent enough but I felt lacked spice or flavour on both. The pakora sauce was a creamy (mango?) rather than the tomato/mint/coriander sauce, but was nice. I’m giving 3star as whilst the food was good. I’ve had better and portions were not as good as our local takeaway (where a portion of veggie pakora is enough for two people and less than £4). In saying all this, friendly staff and I would like to come back for a sit in meal to try it properly. If I get the chance I will update my review then. I would still suggest to give it a try if you are passing.

The finest curry I've had in years. Everything was cooked fresh and with skill. Worth a visit to Lochgilphead alone. Thank you.

We are visiting the area on holiday, we called in as the restaurant was opening on Tuesday 11th July. The food was excellent and our waiter was so attentive and helpful, if we are ever in the area again we will definitely be paying you a visit. Thank you.

Wonderful find on the banks of Loch Fyne/Lochgilphead. Friendly and attentive service from the lovely family who run the place. Food was first class, excellent Prawn puri to start, followed by chicken tikka Marsala and chicken balti accompanied by Peshwari naan and pilau rice. Delicious. Service was swift, efficient, friendly and courteous. We will be back I’m sure.
