Hey it's a chipper (no, I don't mean a garden machine that mashes up offcuts of wood) so were you really expecting a nice atmosphere?

The fish was okay - perhaps a bit too greasy for me as the batter was soft and because it had absorbed a lot of fat. The chips also were okay but there were too many chip-ends and not enough straight chips. My wife had the haddock and scampi combo and liked it a lot.

As a PS, portion sizes were very generous so we probably could've cut our order in half and still would've had enough.”
