The food was tasteless and the coffee cheap and really quite horrible ...the staff were not very sociable and did nothing to make u feel .welcome it was more like a cresh with kids screaming and running in and out the kitchen id avoide this place and i really dont say this about many places

Took 25 mins to produce a bacon roll which arrived burnt. 4 staff and no one seems interested in serving. What a dump, wont stop there again

A delightful, small, cafe tucked in behind the bakers shop which fronts onto the pavement. They were just about to close when we arrived but insisted that we make ourselves comfortable and weren't to rush our meal! One of the staff cleaned our table thoroughly before taking our order the rest of the cafe was very clean too with colourful highchairs for babies, nice carpeting, artificial flowers and five large round 4-seater tables. There are many snacks and light meals on the menu, including omelettes, jacket potatoes with various fillings, hot rolls and toasties. A pot of tea or a coffee is only £1 and served in lovely, good quality, china. We spoke to four different members of staff and all were really friendly and helpful. The shop area sells many tasty fresh snacks to take away, including pies and pastries. The only downside for some is that there is no toilet attached to the cafe but there is a clean, well looked after 'portaloo', in the nearby car park across the road, which costs 20 pence to open. We'll definitely visit this cafe again the next time we're in Mauchline.
