Stopped for hot drinks, saw the scotch and steak pies so bought 2 of each, and splendid scotch pies and the steak pies were out of this world. the young lassie who served me was polite and friendly. A worthy 5 stars!

We have been here a number of times over the years, are we are never dissapointed. The food is always at a very high standard, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My daughter has nes and needs her assistance dog, and they treated her as a 'normal' person, at no time did she feel awkward being there. Plus did I say that the food was amazing. Well be back in Sept.

Last Thursday evening, my husband and I had a wonderful experience at this delightful, country restaurant. My husband said that the gambas pil pil starter was the tastiest he had had. My steak was cooked to perfection with peppercorn sauce on the side. What struck us was the happy atmosphere. Every member of staff had a lovely, welcoming smile and made sure that we were well-attended. Full marks for value for money!
En route to Newton Stewart, we called in here for lunch. The decor is very fresh and pleasing. The food is wow! The chicken curry was beautifully presented and full of flavours. The black pudding and poached egg Caesar salad was wonderful. Drop in if you’re passing by!

I went with low expectations, having been told that this is a small, crowded place with a limited menu. How very wrong! It is indeed small but very cosy and relaxed. The staff were attentive and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The waitress kindly ran back and forth several times, without complaint, to get answers to our questions. The food was fantastic. High quality, well cooked and delicious. I was very impressed with the vegan options. I look forward to returning!

What a fantastic venue. Delicious warm food with very good workers. I certainly will be returning to the shop sometime soon with the whole family. With a perfect location what is not to like about this shop

Had a fantastic meal here, and it was very reasonably priced. Lovely soup, absolutely amazing cajun chicken curry, and a delightful Eton mess. Nice atmosphere, very friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommended.

This is a restaurant we have drive past for years and ended up booking today when online booking failed for another two restaurants and i found this one was recommended. I got a booking (luckily as they were turning people away) It is a small restaurant with 8 tables, an ala carte menu and a specials board. I had an incredibly flavorsome stornoway black pudding served on caeser salad with a perfectly cooked poached egg. The black pudding was deep fried, crisp on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. I followed it up with a white wine and cheese glazed salmon on pureed potatoes. Rich and perfectly poached salmon with a to die for sauce. And finally a fudge brownie with ice cream and berries Service was good though a little slow towards the end as a very noisy group came in but all in all it was a great night
