Visited here whilst staying in the area. Would highly recommend. The food was extremely tasty and well cooked and was something slightly different from your normal curry menu.

We were there for a birthday meal (family)

Discovered the Sher-E-Bangla in Montrose yesterday - absolutely B A N G I N G - as well as the "mock meat" options they have lots of veggie side dishes (if mock meat isn't your thing), forgot to take pics of our starters - poppadoms, onion chutney (very moreish) and onion bhaji with 3 sauces. The mock meat was cubed, "chicken"-style, soya-based stuff, nice texture and flavour. 10/10 would recommend, absolutely over the moon to have discovered this.

Ordered delivery at 6 pm. After 2 phone calls it arrived at 8.15 pm. Although the food is excellent the service falls way below what is expected from a reputable restaurant.

Been here a few times and food has been fine and staff attentive but recently ordered a takeaway and very disappointed. Order was an hour and a half late, food was cold and part of the order missing absolutely no point in trying to get missing items delivered due to length of time already waited for the order. I do not understand why the restaurant takes orders when they know they cannot keep up with the demand, I would rather be disappointed by being told we cannot take an order due to high demand. It’s just day light robbery of people’s hard earned cash.

Ordered a takeaway from here tonight at 6.20pm was told it would be an hour and ten minute. Still wasn’t here by 8pm to be told it would be another half an hour. Absolutely ridiculous. The girl on the phone was lovely and was very apologetic even though it’s not her fault. Have ordered from here before and never been an issue but definitely won’t order again.

Had the chicken bhuna and it matched or beat every curry that I've had. Simply delicious.

I had the special biriyani which comes with a mushroom sauce. It tasted amazing and ill definitely get it again but it was a tad expensive for the quantity you get but worth the money in my opinion.Staff were all great, doing their jobs quickly and efficiently.Kid-friendliness: They supplied a high chair for the baby and even a free fruit shoot.

Superb food, quite unusual, large menu, huge prawns, amazing Peshwari naan.Good touches like not trying to push extra food on us, which is then wasted. Pleasant, attentive staff but not pushy. Hot plates, food all arrived together, no long waits despite a roaring takeaway trade. Reasonably priced food and drinks. Great Kingfisher beer on draught. Poppadoms were soggy due to a broken heater - no quibble apology and removed from our bill.My only complaint would be the bright lights - I do have light sensitivity, but it's also not very romantic!Vegetarian options: Vegan section.Dietary restrictions: Well labelled for gluten free, nuts etc.Wheelchair accessibility: I think it is all flat with no steps.

This was my first visit to the Sher-E-Bangla and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Methi Chicken which was excellent and it was made with good quality meat. The staff were efficient, chatty and polite. This was probably the best Indian food I’ve ever had in Scotland. ‘Will definitely be back on my next visit to Montrose.

Came in for dinner tonight to celebrate my partner's birthday. We've never been here before and received a friendly and very helpful greeting; we'd arrived early around 5pm so the restaurant was quiet and our waiters were happy to chat and have a laugh with us. As a starter I chose garlic prawns, which were delicious and came in a sauce I can only describe as liquid aioli gold. I'm an experienced and determined capsaicin masochist, who wants curry that will cause me to break a sweat whilst still having good flavour as opposed to heat in the form of mediocre food disguised by pumping it full of chillies. My main of chicken garlic chilli with pilau rice did not disappoint (hands up - I will be absolutely honking for a few days but that's everyone else's problem lol). Birthday boy had opted for Indian food, but is a wimp and knows he wants something mild, so chose fish pakora and chicken korma, both of which he thoroughly enjoyed (as well as a few of my garlic prawns). He wasn't sure which naan he wanted and our waiter was happy to give advice that turned out to be perfect for him (peshwari naan, coconutty and went down a treat). Now, we were greedy and had poppadom with dips for starters as well, so then couldn't finish our main course. Our waiter was happy to package this up for us in a doggy bag, and I'd encourage anyone to ask for such rather than let this excellent food go to waste. We could not fault the service or the food in any way, and the restaurant itself is clean and beautifully decorated. We appreciated that there was a screened off passage for waiters to ferry takeaway orders to the reception area (which is also clean and well decorated/furnished) without disturbing diners. Overall, a lovely dining experience and we would certainly return next time we visit Montrose. Thanks guys!

Lovely restaurant. Food was great, full of flavour. Good selection of vegetarian and vegetarian options, waiting staff were knowledgeable about what breads/rice's and sundries could be made vegan.

Sher E Bangla take out is always outstanding. You may pay a couple of pounds more for a main than from other places but it is well worth it. Their chilli pop starters are a favourite.
