what a great place we, went for a comedy / history show with Bruce Fummey (check YouTube). We ate first in the lovely restaurant all the servers were brilliant great choice of foods and deals available. in the rest of the building there was a private sixtieth birthday party going on whilst in the bar live music was happening with a lively audience joining in, a great night.Nearby activities: musselburgh is a lovely wee town plenty of shops to explore and a nice harbour area and just outside places for longer walks also the famous race course and golfing both on the race course grounds and monktonhall and royal musselburghFood & drinks: restaurants and outlets in town

We have just been to a wedding reception yesterday 15th March and I have to say all staff were very attentive, polite and helpful. The wedding breakfast food was amazing and as a venue was lovely. Well done

Service was sooooo slow.Food (What was available - they seemed to have a lot out of stock), was nice, but GF options are next to zero; book of doom comes out; there was about 3 or 4 options, but at least one of those was weekend only.Won't be rushing back.

Lovely helpful staff, brief visit for a funeral tea, pleasing selection of food items. Delightfully civilised venue, would re-visit to dine.

Joined a group of colleagues for a lunch. I was late so I was not informed that parking has to be registered. I received a £100 parking fine two weeks later. When I contacted Ravelston to ask them to sort it out they basically were not that interested and told me to deal with Britannia Parking and I should have noticed the signs in the Car Park. Fair dos, thats the type of establishment you are dealing with. Classy customer service.

Had the unfortunate task of organising a funeral for a loved one recently and we chose The Ravelston for the function after the funeral. The team were fantastic and very supportive throughout the process. The venue ticked all our boxes and there wasn’t a single issue on the day. The staff did a great job catering for our 100+ guests and the price for the event was great value compared to other venues nearby. Thanks again to the team for making the day go so smoothly.

I cannot praise the manager and staff highly enough for their professional and kind service for my husband’s funeral tea. Nothing was too much trouble.

Foods not bad, most staff friendly good place to go for a wee drink session and has outdoor seating areas.

I think this place was GREAT! Great staff, right from the beginning, LARGE clean room, great price! There was lively action going on downstairs. I was tired and went to bed :) . The noise from the bar COULD be heard in my room, but it didn't bother me. I would definitely recommend and WILL stay again when I go back to Edinburgh

I had a first class Christmas dinner. Food was good quality, there was a great choice and the service was excellent. Also reasonably priced. I couldn’t fault anything about it.Nearby activities: A five minute walk from the National Trust Newhailes House, also historic Fisherrow Harbour.Walkability: Lots of nice walks nearby. Along Musselburgh’s beach and river. Newhailes House and Edinburgh’s beach resort PortobelloNoteworthy details: There are bus stops right outside the hotel, taking visitors into Edinburgh and the rest of East Lothian.
