Went in to coffee shop yesterday with friend. Spent £35 on lunch only to find a huge strand of hair in my tuna sandwich. When I told the waitress she didn't seem very bothered with it. First and last visit.

I was highly disappointed with my recent experience at Zanzibar Cafe. The following issues significantly marred our visit:**Uneven Service:** Our six-year-old child was served last, long after the rest of us had finished our meals. This was both inconsiderate and frustrating.**Subpar Food:** The pancakes were dense and soggy, a far cry from the fluffy texture one expects.**Inadequate Portions:** We were provided with an extremely small jug of maple syrup for three people and insufficient hot water for two pots of tea.**Unwelcoming Staff:** The service was generally off-putting, with staff members seeming rude and uninterested in making our experience enjoyable.**Uncomfortable Atmosphere:** The overall vibe of the cafe was unwelcoming.Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend Zanzibar Cafe.

Was in on Tuesday having a lukewarm coffee. Witnessed the owner ban a couple for having the audacity to have asked for coffee extra hot and a paper cup on a previous visit a I believe one of them had grip issues with proper cups due to Arthritis (I think). From what I could gather during the exchange – this as stated was on a prior visit, and the owner was banning them after taking money for the order they had had on that day, no issues on that day!! From what I experienced the only way to get decent coffee here would be to get it extra hot. I won't be back; this is shocking and such awful behaviour to disabled people. I am telling all my friends to stay away; the woman has such a bad attitude (She is the owner). Plenty other nice cafes in North Berwick. I won't be back.

Visited today with my husband. Ordered tea, coffee & a croissant. No issue with order. When we were getting ready to leave the owner came over and out of the blue said I thought you weren’t coming back. We were taken aback at this. She told us to leave and that she had told staff not to serve us if we eent back again. The reason being my husband left a bad revire after our last visit. He has a disability and asked if he could have his coffee in a takeaway cup as it is easier for him to hold. She said she would have to charge extra for the paper cup although we were already paying sit down price. He challenged this and said she was discriminating against people with disabilities. She was very rude and said that didn’t matter. We decided to give them another chance. Didn’t bother asking for a takeaway cup today as didn’t want the hassle. She was happy to take our order and money but decided to approach us as we were getting ready to leave. Wouldn’t want to go back anyway. Customer service is shocking.

Spent our first night in Zanzibar at the Coffee House Hotel. Excellent staff, food and an authentic location in the middle of Stone Town. Leah, Ramona gave us the best breakfast on the rooftop…kids went back just for Leah!

Like others the experience was mixed. Coffee good, sandwiches not. Seemed a bit chilly too, not much heating. Disappointing.

I purchased a morning roll with bacon and what a disappointment, pre-cooked bacon, probably from the day before which was tough as old boots, never again! PS was a carry out so could not take it back or I definitely would have.

Absolutely dreadful place. The girl who owns this cafe is the most unfriendly person I've met. I was told that the next time i ask for a takeaway cup for my coffee, i would be charged. I suffer from severe arthritis in my fingers, so a normal cup is no good for me as it's too heavy, and i can't get my fingers into the handles. I tried to explain this to her to which she replied,"I'll still be chared" Beware, she'll be charging you for dishwasher tablets soon.

Wonderful wee dog friendly cafe. Avo toast was great. My husband would've liked 2 pieces of black pudding on his roll, but he shouldn't have had even 1. Definitely recommend this wee gem.

Not horrific, but the prices are higher than on their website, the WiFi password doesn't work, the food (cheese+ham panini) was really skimpy on ham with a salad essentially comprising of 1/8th a leaf of lettuce with a 1cm cube of tomato.

Poor service , forgetting orders , incomplete orders. Pancakes with maple syrup came with no maple syrup and no attempt to point that out until delivered to the table so had to go out and buy my own and a half filled cup of coffee. Nice decor . Just do what the menu says and try and make it look attractive and remember the order , it would make it into a much better welcoming experienceDietary restrictions: Oat milk available
