The supper club I run visited Asha's and it did not disappoint! We opted for the buffet and it was beautiful, tasty and In abundance, the staff could not do enough for us and treated us like queen's, beautifully decorated and with a lovely ambience. It was busy but we were still never forgotten and always kept topped up with drinks and the buffet selection always full. Would highly recommend, we will be returning soon for some more delicious food. Thank You! ⭐️

We had a couple of Bengali dishes (new to us) and they were delicious. Sorry I can’t recall the name of the dishes but one was lamb chops, the other a chicken dish. The meal was great as I said and we had a great chat with one of the waiters. The decor was a bit glitzy and took me by surprise, looked more like the dance floor of a disco than a restaurant but hey, didn’t take anything from the food. Was surprised how quiet the place was for a Friday evening, that said it was a horrible rainy evening. Would go back if we were in the area, we live 2 hours away.

Asha's Indian Aroma. Indo/Bangla Cuisine. 22a Queen Street, Peterhead, Aberdeen AB42 1TS Tel: 01779 478898 Date of visit1st November 2023. The first thing I’m going to say is: How nice it is, and reassuring, when people come up to me and tell me that because of my reports, that they have ventured into, and sampled, the delights that I report on theses posts. So, a big thank you to those people and please, please, please send me some feedback. Let me know if you have visited any of my restaurants and what did you think of them, and how are you liking my reviews? Click a like. So, this week I ventured on an eight-hour journey along motorways and byways to the bustling city of Aberdeen, or to be more precise, Peterhead a few miles further North. From what I saw, which to be fair due to a tight schedule was not very much, Peterhead was an attractive and busy part of the world with a busy harbour quite renowned for its fishing port and servicing the oil rigs out in the North Sea. A big shout out to Captain Robert Wiseman. An officer and a gentleman, who looked after us brilliantly. I had read up on the Asha’s Indian Aroma which boasted rave reviews which fired up my interest. So, with pen and bank card in hand three of us set off to find Asha’s, and you will find it tucked down a little side street off the main road into Peterhead. It was a Wednesday night and the rain had been relentless from the time we set off at 6 AM to the time we arrived at turned 1400 hours. so, it was quiet. A comfortable 60/70-seater with nice Indian wall art and a décor that you would have thought right out of the Far Pavilions near Morecambe, shiny glitter walls and subdued lighting set a cosy atmosphere. Headed up by Hanz, and his very competent team who looked after us very well! The chef was a little shy but did eventually come out to see who these nutters were making all the noise in his restaurant. Unfortunately, I did not get all the names but a big shout out to them for their kind Scottish hospitality.! OK, so to the food. As you would expect the three of us all decided on something different A Chicken Madras which was up there with the best, A chicken Tiger Masala, (A dish with a BITE) This was different, a hot spicey dish with fresh chillies in a rich thickish sweet sauce, with the addition of mango which gave it its sweetness. Where I went for the South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken. Again, this was off the charts but with a special twist, the garlic had been very thinly sliced and added right at the end of cooking to give a delicious burst of flavour as you bit into it, so often because of the cooking process you lose the flavour of the garlic but done this way you get the flavour right through to the last bite. Soft perfectly cooked chicken, well spiced with a good but flavoursome kick of chilli. Soft and separate grains of fragrant pilau Basmati rice and a Peshwari naam finished off the dish perfectly. So, this folk, is the reason Hanz and his team get such goof reviews, it such a shame that it is so far away BUT! If I’m ever that way again, rest assured I will be in there, and if you are that way, give it a go! Please comment on this review and if possible, share it and press the LIKE button.

Pretty dissatisfied if I’m brutally honest. Lamb tikka was fatty and tough, Chicken Bhuna bland and watery. Nan was undercooked and half the size I would have normally expected. Overpriced, undercooked, unimpressed There must be better “up North”

Three of us ate at Asha’s Indian Aroma, quite early one evening in August. I don’t want to be mean about it because the waiter was friendly and helpful and appeared to know what he was talking about (when I ordered lamb achari he pointed out that it actually wasn’t the usual lamb achari but lamb tikka with an achari sauce). But anyone looking for anything resembling good and authentic Indian food will be disappointed. I think perhaps the food has been adjusted for regional tastes: there was a lack of spice of any kind, whether aromatic or hot; the “tarka dal” was almost wholly untouched by garlic, oil or spices (I.e. the tarka) and almost all the dishes had been sweetened. Puri were more akin to yorkshire puddings than the light, crisp puffs they should be, and there was no hint of fresh coriander in the chaat. The lamb was hot (not spicy hot) and the rice was fine. I thought it was expensive for what we were given: £90.90 for three. I can imagine that it might be quite a cheery place later in the evening when more people are there (we were the only people there at about 7 pm) and if you’re not fussed about authenticity or quality of cooking, it might be fine.

Today, my experience at Asha Indian Takeaway was simply delightful. The flavours were truly amazing! We savoured dishes like Tarka dal, Sag paneer, rice, and Bombay aloo, all prepared to perfection with just the right amount of spiciness and rich Tarka flavor, sans any overwhelming sweetness. I can't help but suggest they rename it to "Asha Aromatherapy Curry" - that's how much we relished the meal!

Went as a family to the restaurant the inside is beautiful with a great atmosphere and comfortable chairs. The food is delicious probably one of the best Indian meals we have had. This was our second time and it was as good as the first time we went. The staff and the owner are so very nice, nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Had an excellent dinner at Asha's Indian Aroma. We had several different things and they were all delicious. They have a big menu but we decided on samosas, veggie rice, kabobs, Naan, tandoori and Cobra beer. I would come for the food alone, but the staff, including the owner himself, ensured our desire to return with their warm, genuine and efficient hospitality. So glad we stopped.
