Four of us went to Zara’s on Hogmanay to start our celebrations. The food we all had was fantastic and will definitely be back as this was the best curry I’ve had in Peterhead for many years.

My family have been ordering from Zara's for years. We've never once had a bad takeaway. We've always received hot fresh food in huge amounts.Today was my families first time eating in at the restaurant and honestly, I really wish we had done it sooner. We went in for my Dad's 60th birthday. The place looked nice. It was very spacious and had a nice chilled atmosphere.The fellow waiting on us was very friendly, very funny and was very welcoming. He treated us all very well and went out of his way to make sure that our time there was a good one.The food we ordered, it may have been a bit much. Which admittedly was our own fault (my Dad's to be specific lol). But we ordered a fine selection of starters, a few sides and obviously a curry and rice each. Every plate we got was extremely delicious. It was all nice, hot and from what I've experienced, tasted very fresh.At the end of our time there, the staff surprised us with a cake and candle for my Dad. We didn't make any arrangements for this and it was quite a surprise. It was a lovely gesture, one my Dad appreciated. We felt bad that we were already stuffed and had little room for cake. But we left some for the staff because they were awesome.We're definitely planning on going back in. It was great. We were there for two hours and thirty minutes and between the great staff, the food and atmosphere, it didn't feel it. Definitely a hidden gem in our sad little town.If you fancy a sit in curry, this is definitely a place to go.Kid-friendliness: Fellow serving us was very kind to my kids. He went out of his way to make sure their needs were met, that they understood what they were ordering and kept them laughing. They're already asking when we're going back.
