First visit here, and booked for 5pm to make sure we could get the kids home to bed on time. We did get starters fairly quickly but then waited for mains until ten to seven (despite prompting). It wasn't particularly busy either. The food was just ok, but expensive for what it is, And beware, the steak pie is not a pie (and best avoided anyway). Macaroni cheese was floury. Can't comment on the desserts as we didn't have time to hang around. I really wanted to like this place - lovely location and decor, and a fairly interesting menu (if a bit aimlessly diverse). Friendly staff too, but let down by the price/quality comparison of the food, and definitely by the speed of service. Maybe we caught the place on a bad day, but on that showing we won't be back.

The service was so slow, even though it wasn’t very busy. Starters arrived and were soggy and mushy as if they had been under the heat lamp for a very long time. (We waited 25min for them to come) The food was very bland. Macaroni cheese had no flavour whatsoever and was like eating plain pasta. It came in a tiny skillet almost like a child’s portion. “Garlic bread” was actually a piece of toast with some garlic butter on it. For the prices they are charging here I expected a lot better. The restaurant itself is lovely and has a really cosy vibe with a nice outdoor seating area. Shame about the food and service as it really let the place down unfortunately. Won’t be back

Came here for a little dinner date and the atmosphere was perfect! Service couldn’t have been any better in my opinion! our server Michelle gave both of us a 10/10 experience during our meal with smiles all around! Food was delicious and well portioned for the price point and tasted delicious! will definitely be back in future! Thank you again Michelle!

Very disappointed with the food on this occasion. Ordered gambas pil pil and it arrived in sweet chilli sauce. Also There was barely any beef in the pie and the gravy tasted like bistro.. tge starters were good and my friend ordered the veg bao buns which were nice. The drinks however were amazing and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Shame about the food. Very disappointed

I came here for the first time for a birthday meal with family, where a group of us had a table booked upstairs. Overall, despite a small wait for the food (expected though with a large group) the food I had was great in terms of both taste and portion size. No complaints there and everyone seemed to be happy with the food. The only downside was the impression given by some of the staff. A couple of them were a little snippy. We also had a slight issue paying our bill (we had to leave earlier due to childcare) as they couldn't split costs if 2 or more of the same dish were ordered, so made a big deal of calculating the cost when it only needed to be split in half. However, I will say that our server Audrey was an absolute star. She was so friendly and polite and really made the experience. Everyone agreed how great she was. An asset to the team. Overall there were glitches, and maybe it was just due to a hectic shift as it was busy, but apart from that the food and atmosphere provided a lovely experience.

Lovely decor especially outside with the flowers and overhead heaters. Lovely staff. Been there for several weeks just for drinks but Tennents is always off mid week. Also served in glasses which have no logo if you get them in restaurant. Went there on Sunday. Sat in garden so went into restaurant for beer. Asked for them in Tennents glasses. Told to go into bar and they asked a passing waiter to serve me there. Went into bar ..no one serving. The waiter then came and said he was under pressure and would be at least ten minutes. Back to restaurant. Told they weren’t serving drinks and to wait in bar. Aargh…we left. We are local. So bad to be treated thus. You have more chance of getting a drink if you are a dog!!

We had a great dinner. Lovely inside, food was great and staff were very attentive. Only issue was the small car park which is tight if you have a long car. Will definitely be back.

Really not that good. Hate giving poor reviews but this restaurant needs to do better. Table not ready when we arrived and we had to chase it up 20 minutes after our reservation time. Starter courses came reasonably quickly but we waited ages for our main courses. The food was very average and essentially tasteless. Nowhere near as good as it used to be after it first opened. In fairness it is still busy so it must be doing something right but the basic fact is that the food is not good nor is the general restaurant management. Really disappointing.

The decor and comfort was fabulous, however £18 for steak pie was not good considering the portion size. Then there was a service charge. Two sandwiches portion chips, steak pie, pint and 2 soda waters £55 thought I was in london

Lovely surroundings and food fresh until I ordered the fish and chips and only got half a fish and cheated (this I know trust me lol) @£16.95. My partner got the chicken caesar salad and the chicken was shy. Rather someone had said there isn't enough fish and chicken left or perhaps that's what the chef has been told to do. Not good enough and you need to do better. Didn't want to raise it as partner and I were in a hurry and hungry. Be interested to hear what management has to say but I doubt I will get a reply. An expensive lunch indeed and very fishy indeed.

Booked before I read some of the latest not so good reviews, needn’t have worried , visited today and can’t fault it , service was great , food was great , price more than acceptable . Glad I wasn’t put off by the negative reviews, highly recommend and it’s dog friendly too .

I've a couple classic cars and usually use the back road from Polmont to test drive them, turning at the Bridge Inn. So decided to stop in one morning for breakfast, just to see what like. Trying to be honest, I wanted to give it a better score. Its a lovely place, tastefully renovated. The staff are pleasant and the food I ordered was good. Very good actually. On the flipside, it's way too formal for a pub/restaurant. For me anyway. It advertises itself as being at the heart of the community but I felt like I had to be dressed up to go in. The place just tries a bit too hard. The staff, though nice, were a bit wooden and regimented. And the food, though good, well.. it was just a fry-up. You'd be hard put to get that wrong really. The member of staff that served me gave me a wee jar of brown sugar for my tea, but took it away, i assume to give to other guests. Did seem a bit odd that there wouldn't be enough to go round, to have the sugar taken away when I still had half a pot of tea left. Anyway I digress. It was alright. Ended up being a very formal sit down for what was essentially just a fry-up and pot of tea. Decent enough, but probably better suited for a proper lunch/dinner date. That's it really. Oh and there's a service charge, which I didn't know about initially. So it became quite a pricey fry-up in the end.

Really gone down hill :( We've been here twice before and the food was lovely but I'm not sure if they have new chefs or different staff now. I ordered pizza and half of it was raw dough. My husband ordered a medium steak and it came really well done. He wasn't given a steak knife and the waitress seemed to disappear after we got our food so weren't able to ask for the knife. The cheesecake I had was lovely but it wasn't enough to make me go back here

Where to start!! So I’m GF. I’ve been to this restaurant maybe 6/7 times over 3 years and enjoyed the food there every time. Up until last night yucky blah and horrible. I ordered fish and chips GF . It was not cooked and looked pale. It was disgusting. I was told by staff that the GF laws had changed!! I asked them in what way? Apparently they thought that all GF had to now be cooked separately….. but that’s been forever I said!!! Obviously the staff thought I had been transported up the Clyde in a banana boat!!

This place is dirty. As soon as you park the car in the car park, the smell from the buckets (in the car park) is disgusting. Then the inside is dirty, dirty chairs, floors. The food is very ordinary, but expensive. Definitely overpriced and over rated. I will never return.
