4 of us visited here on a busy Saturday evening for an evening meal.Food: the food was brilliant. Wellington was incredible as were the burgers. Very well presented and decent size portions. Skinny fries with parmesan were a particular favourite!Service: great service, had to wait a bit of time between receiving the bill and paying but it was busy so understandable. Staff very attentive, friendly and welcoming. Credit to the venue.Atmosphere: really relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a casual evening meal.Parking: private parking is available but also plenty of free on street parking nearby. No issues at all.Price: for the quality and quantity of food and overall experience, I believe this place is priced appropriately. 4 people, 2 courses and 2 drinks each approximately £30 per head.Top highlight(s): skinny fries and sticky toffee pudding. Will definitely return and easily recommend to anyone in the area.Parking: Private parking behind venue. Plenty of free street parking available in the area too.

I enjoyed my dinner here but it was very busy which meant service was quite slow. We waited 25 minutes for drinks. Food arrived soon after. The food was actually very tasty and the prices reasonable. Portions are very good indeed.

Staff good but drink prices too high eg 1 pint of lager and 1 large white wine was over £14. This is an Edinburgh city price. OK for the once in a while quick drink only.

We have dined at the Westerton on several occasions and it has always been very good.

They have retained all the pub grub staples but have extended the menu to include some more off-the-wall options; Bang Bang chicken, Arancini balls with beetroot puree and much more. We were there for lunch and opted for the light bite menu, my sister took the Fisherman: goujons with tartare and pea mayo. I had the Dirty Hog, pulled BBQ pork, red onion and cheese. Each served on a ciabatta roll with a dressed salad and red cabbage slaw. The rolls can be gluten free and there is a healthy selection of gluten free choices. Both delightful and served promptly and with a smile. Teas in pots, good coffee. We'll be back.

We have been touring Scotland as a group of 11! Westerson Arms got us in on a last minute booking and took excellent care of our family. All the servers and manager made sure all our needs were met and that we had a lovely time. The food was delicious and this is the Scottish experience we had be looking for! Macaroni and Cheese, Bofa Shark (best fish and chips all trip!) Bruschetta, carrot and coconut soup all very good. Highly recommend they have a huge screen playing rugby if that’s your thing. Good times.

Staff were very attentive and helpful and polite. Food was very good and we did not have to wait a long time for it. Ambience was very good and tables not too close together. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Table wasn't ready even though we booked, order was placed and waited an hour for starters. Waiter did apologise because they were so busy but don't take bookings if you can't handle it being busy. By the time the food came, was passed eating it! Very disappointed as it was for my mums birthday and my son starting university...

The menu is a wide range of tantalising dishes. Lots of charm and coziness to the surroundings. Food: Let down by the Bofa Shark (simple Haddock would be more appropriate) especially the small portion of 11 soggy chips. Burgers are as great as they sound, just more soggy chips unfortunately. Steak Ciabatta was another winner. Service: Nice buzz about the place. Staff are friendly enough. Obviously when it's busy and the kitchen is backed up there will be times when the ball is dropped. It's best to speak to your customers and not leave them hanging on to see if your missing meal is forgotten or just a little longer. Awkward for us when a quick reassurance was all it took while we watched more food leave the kitchen and pass us by. It's a busy place so we Booked a table beforehand I look forward to going back. So many more dishes I want to try.

I should have taken heed offl the previous reviews. They were right. Food not great. The shark fish supper was ok but wasn't very big. Quite greasy Only got a few chips with it so very expensive for what we got. Staff were attentive and pleasant but won't be back.

The booking and service was great. Staff were lovely and friendly. The place itself was so busy but the staff handled it well. The food was a bit of a let down as my husband ordered monkfish and prawns but only three tiny bits of monkfish and my chicken was very dry. A plus was it had a lovely sauce which helped the dryness of the chicken. Overall we still had a nice evening as they had a singer on and it make my birthday treat. He was very good. Jean Whittaker.
