Received a friendly welcome following a recommendation for Sunday lunch. We sat in the bar area waiting for a table to be free, happy with the surroundings. However, lunch was served… we had three different meats between us - not one was edible. Pork was 90% fat, beef was too tuff to cut & the chunks of lamb consisted of fatty sinew. One potato per plate & cold undercooked vegetables on the side.We persevered with eating our lunch as other tables around us complained. When we tried to tell the head chef/manager we weren’t happy with the quality of food, he was happy to argue the food was good quality & we were only complaining as others around us had earlier. Not the most professional customer service!A meal was deducted from our billAs good will gesture.Such a shame really. We won’t return again due to the management’s attitude.

Staff very polite. Bar was cold, beer not quite right and wine £9 a large glass.Didn't stay any longer than necessary.Good potential but only one other customer.....not surprised.

Rustic bare brick interior, with exposed beams, a couple of ales on the bar, tastefully decorated.

A ‘proper’ small pub with friendly atmosphere. Small selection of craft ales on tap, but plenty of other choices. Really enjoyed my ping in there

It was a shame that the manager had to run down to the other restaurant to get the wine. My hot food was served on cold plates. The tables were not wiped down from the previous occupants. We had to call out for service at Jnr bar. This place has great potential!

Nice convivial old fashioned pub. I ordered a Fish Friday and it was excellent. Not a vast range of beer.Parking: It's on a tiny sidestreet with no parking nearby. When you find somewhere to park its payable. Better come on foot.Wheelchair accessibility: There was a guy in an electric wheelchair at the bar so it must be.

Excellent food and beer in a really good atmosphere with great service from Jazz our waitress and excellent food from Jamie the chef who was very helpful and changed a few things around for me to accommodate my food allergies. Will definitely be going back

Cracking pub, been several times when in town, just off the beaten track but definitely worth a wander round the corner from the hustle n bustle, great beer & from what another customer said, great food too, certainly smelt great
Traditional, welcoming pub with decent prices. Recommended.
