Walked in with nobody to greet us so had no idea where to go to tell someone about our reservation. Didn’t have both things I wanted on the menu. Ended up with fish and chips and the chips weren’t great. It was extremely hot in there too.

Gastro pub, a little pretentious, especially when the place is busy. 6 ales on the bar, great location near the river, there are outside seats.

Had dinner an a very busy Saturday afternoon with my nine year old son. The staff couldn't be more helpful or polite, they treated my little boy with the same respect as all adults and with a smile, it was a lovely experience for him. The food was excellent despite no real children's menu the could not have been more accommodating. Thankyou for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. See you again soon. Please convey our thanks to all at The Armoury. 5 star, 10/10 service.Kid-friendliness: Absolutely great with kids

A decent Sunday roast that won't leave you hungry! A nice selection of desserts and the traditional Ale goes down well. Staff very helpful too. All good ?.

Went there after all the good reviews. The ambience was great and staff members really polite but the food was a massive disappointment. Worst chicken burger I have ever had, almost definitely reheated and really dry and tasteless. Unfortunately would not recommend.

Still my favourite place in Shrewsbury. Great selection of beers, very nice Sunday lunch, nice atmosphere all with very good service.

Had the worst over priced fish n chip ever on Thursday night fish was over cooked dry burnt chips flying off the plate as some were so hard presentation was terrible dried out lemon wedges fish dumped on top of mushy peas chips scattered all over the plate how chief let this out if the kitchen surprises me .Service wasn't any better we we seated by a very friendly chippy person who was very concerned about food allergies unfortunately that seemed to be the only concern she had , she took our drinks order which arrived promptly we sat and waited for someone to take our food order staff were floating about the restaurant walking past tables I had to go to the bar and ask for our order to be taken the same girl came took our order and arrived back very quickly with the burnt fish n chips & ceaser salad which my partner enjoyed that was the last we saw of our server never came back to ask if we were OK or need anything else she was floating about the restaurant but unfortunately we couldn't get her attention. Very disappointing won't be returning anytime soon .

Sunday roast was mouthwatering and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for! Food was very fresh and tasty. It's lovely inside, and I was pleasantly suprised to see that they allowed dogs.

We visited the Armoury last week and we were served by Ian and couldn’t thank him enough for his service. He was so attentive and helpful and he made our experience that much better. Food was fantastic and couldn’t fault the staff at all. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Thank you Ian for making a rainy day trip more enjoyable. A

Little bit slow on service despite being a relatively quiet day. Otherwise good beer, good wine, and a lovely setting. The interior is very well done and the few tables outside are in a lovely location, overlooking the river.

Really great ambience here from the greeting by the manager to excellent food service and quality. The manager even took time out to recommend some local character inns worth visiting. I had the chicken and chorizo pie with trimmings and my wife had prawn curry dish. Undoubtedly the best value for money meals we have had for a long time. Also the choice and quality of real ales first class

Lovely food - we all but licked the plates clean! We had the sausage and mash, caesar salad and pan fried chicken. Desserts were nice too - sticky toffee pudding, lemon posset and sorbet. Friendly service. Mocktail a bit disappointing for the price.

This was the first restaurant on our list of possible venues for our wedding day meal. My partner has been there many times and loves the venue, vicinity and has never had a bad meal. It was my first visit. She is right, the place is lovely and the service is very good. Early evening on a Tuesday meant that it was quiet.Unfortunately, though, the food was poorly cooked. I chose cod and chips. My partner had the sweet potato and cheese pie. The cod and chips were overcooked and therefore very greasy. The mushy peas were lukewarm at best, the tartare sauce very good. I felt quite nauseous halfway through the meal due to the grease, and that feeling continued for the rest of my evening. My partners sweet potato pie was tasty, but the sweet potato was in slices, hard and undercooked in places. The vegetables were lukewarm.Given the great reviews, and my partners glowing reports of The Armoury, I had high hopes, but sadly the food was a major letdown. From other reviews, I am sure this is not a regular occurrence, but this was my experience.
