We loved this pub with rooms. We booked the junior suite which was a generous size with good seating area and lovely en suite. Luxurious touch of having L'Occitane toiletries. It was really quiet, we wouldn't have known an event was on, which was great. There was a good buzz with plenty of people in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast. The food was delicious and the service friendly and professional. We would heartily recommend.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere! 100% recommend a visit to anyone and will definitely be returning in the future.Nearby activities: Attingham Park, not far from Shrewsbury centre, not far from lots of places in Shropshire to see.Food & drinks: The food and drink was divine. Generous portions, amazing taste and ample choices.Noteworthy details: Has a bit of history, is in a lovely area and amazing views.

The management was extremely rude!

Only one person available on check in. Although obvious that we were checking in Elliott continued to chit chat with a customer. We had driven a long way and both very cold. Room 1 was lovely but cold. Towel heater didn’t work. The ambience in the main area is delightful and the young staff warm and attentive.

We had pre-booked, but unfortunately, they had forgotten to book us in and placed us in the bar. The service was slow, and the food was poor for the price. We will not be rushing back.

Everyone was so friendly, and the food was excellent. I'm always amazed how busy it is and the food quality and service doesn't seem to suffer. We felt very well looked after. You've done a great job with the mytton, it was always so unloved and the previous owners took for granted what a great location it was and just milked it as best they could. You've made it shine again and the service from the staff is brilliant. Elliot and team should be congratulated for the job they are doing.Food & drinks: Food was excellent.

We, as a family, had never been to The Mytton and Mermaid. We saw the good reviews and booked a table to celebrate my mother's birthday on mothering Sunday. It was fantastic. The food was divine. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the ambience was 100%. We will definitely be returning. I strongly recommend you book a table and experience the fine dining

Sad to say, this place did not live up to expectations. It very much feels they have gone for quantity over quality, which is such a waste of a very beautiful building and location.Positives were booking was very easy using the online system. It was easy to find, and we didn't struggle with parking like so many others have.Unfortunately, the negatives far outweighed the positives. To start, there is no front of house, you have to just hang around the bar and hope to catch a member of staff to seat you.The staff were friendly, but far too over worked to provide a good level of service. We were largely ignored during the whole service, with empty glasses on our table for 20-30 mins at a time.Starters came quickly, but the wait for mains was over an hour from being seated, with no one checking in with us or seeing if we needed any drinks. The crispy squid was mostly just crispy bits of batter from the bottom of the fryer, although the spicy mango sauce was nice. The food was average at best. The smoked haddock was disappointing due to a poorly seasoned sauce and serious lack of mussels, there was literally only 2 tiny mussels on the plate despite it being listed as the second ingredient on the menu - please look at my pictures to see what I mean, they were approx 1cm each. Food lacked flavour and felt thrown together. The lamb was a good portion size, but the potato side was odd and lumpy.I feel this place is too large to provide the service you would expect in such a grand building. The dining rooms are huge, but it feels more like a canteen than a quality restaurant with how close the tables are squeezed together.Desert was disappointing with an unclear menu. They advertise a mini pudding with a choice of listed hot drinks for a set price, but when we tried to order Irish coffees (which were on the list), we were told their would be an additional charge, even though this was not highlighted or stated on the menu.I usually find the positives in most places - feel free to check my other reviews to confirm this - but I have struggled here, and won't be in any rush to return any time soon.

I thought food a service was fantastic, I changed the guest numbers from 6 to 8 just half an hour before I got there. Everyone in the party was very happy.

I treated my family ladies and in-laws for mothers day and we were not disappointed. Our scottish waitress was fabulous, food was wonderful, the other waitresses and bar men were polite and professional. We loved it ❤️
