This place used to be really good and well run now it isn't a friend had organised a get together and we had paid £23 room and buffet the buffet was truly awful, tired looking dried sandwiches little choice and a member of bar staff clearly not meant to be in hospitality (we don't do 3 tuns, virtually pitching for a confrontation) they did do it nxt door on their other bar!

Having had many excellent meals before, in The Peach Tree, we went here for lunch today. Despite arriving at 12.15, 30 minutes after breakfast service should have ended, the breakfast menu was all that was available. The initial waitress was terrible (others were better), and I wished we had left then.My breakfast was very average. 3 mushrooms, baked beans heated up a while ago. I asked where the "artisan bread" came from, and I was told what I suspected. A supermarket white sliced loaf!My partner's poached eggs were overcooked. We could have gone to Wetherspoons, and got a better breakfast for a fraction of the cost.

Really varied menu. Great for non-meat eaters and friendly service. Went very early on before a concert in the Abbey and enjoyed it so much we intend to go again when we have more time for a relaxed meal. My wife was particularly taken by the Asian options.

Came here for afternoon tea, which I booked over the phone the week before. Very interesting building and lovely scones. Would definitely recommend it if you're in the area.

Excellent breakfast in quirky surroundings. Background music was much too loud.

Came for a Christmas lunch. Not many people there. The roast potatoes were very obviously warmed up from last night, tough, dry & tasteless. The food was served luke warm so that by the time we ate half of it, the rest was cold. One ordered steak with jus but no jus came just the gravy the rest of us ordered. Extra gravy great but also luke warm. Eaton ChristMess for desert was very good. Lovely decor, location & front of house staff but my advice is GET A CHEF WHO GIVES A DUCK & you will be packed every day.

Thanks to Chris and the team for looking after 36 ladies in for afternoon tea, plentiful and tasty. We couldn't finish all the cakes but were provided with take out boxes to spread the love back home. The Havana room was perfect for the group size and for pushing back the tables for a dance afterwards, even better was being allowed to move into the bar dance area! Very excited to see the changes so far and look forward to seeing your future plans come to fruition. Welcome back.

I was very disappointed. We came for a group Christmas meal costing £45pp. Although the meal was nice, well cooked and presented, in comparison with a Christmas meal I had a few days previously at a local pub this meal at the Peach Tree was left very much in the shade. We felt we had been ripped off as the pub meal was £19.99pp and was a lot tastier, much more fare on offer, and tasted better. At the Peach Tree we only had two potatoes on the plate, a small amount of veg to share, although we had an ample serving of Turkey. Also, just a small amount of Cranberry sauce to share between us. I had the meringue for sweet, which again was very disappointing. Hardly any cream and a solitary Strawberry on top. The bottom of the meringue was too hard to eat. I had Salmon starter which was very nice, but again a very small serving. It was dwarfed by the huge serving of lettuce as a garnish, and bread. The service wasn’t the best for a restaurant that pretends to be upmarket. One of the male waiters brought my meal and said to me “here you are mate”, as he placed my meal in front of me pushing his way between us as we were in conversation. First of all, I am not his mate, the proper address would been to call me “sir”, So all in all I was very disappointed, and will not be returning as we have been ripped off.

We came here for a drink at 4pm on a Sunday night. Wasn't very bussy at all only 1 party table I could see having food. 3 members of staff behind the bar. We ordered a coke and a lint of Madri. The barman poured half the glass of coke and then all members of staff started to have what sounded like a team meeting whilst myself and my wife were stood there waiting still for our drinks. We must of been stood there 5 mins still waiting until they finished talking and then poured the rest of the coke and my pint. To me that is just poor service and rude. Surely once you have taken an order at the bar you serve the customer there drink b4 you start having a meeting or chin wag whatever it was. Also another couple cane in after us and ordered 2 coffees to which they never received. The person complained at the bar but nobody seemed to bothered about it to be honest.

Absolutely shocking. Came here for a special event with the family. The staff were so rude and made us feel so uncomfortable. The drinks were AWFUL, a glass of Prosecco for £8.50 which could have been served in a shot glass. I was charged different prices each time I paid for the same drinks. I dont think I’ll ever come here again, and advise everyone else to do the same

A friend and I visited for lunch, we both had the noodle special. Fabulous taste, excellent portion size (we dug deep to finish!) and really helpful service from James. We would both really recommend and will return.

Sadly on Saturday the staff were busy preparing for a private event.I was extremely disappointed to request specific items for brunch due to dietary needs to be served the wrong food. Having brought this to the attention of waiting staff items were removed, but the missing item was not served. When bringing this to the attention of the female manager I was challenged about needing to identify the right waitress, to then be challenged by the waitress about having said I did not want the missing item, which was totally untrue. An apology would have been appreciated but sadly not forthcoming. Having eaten brunch at the Peach Tree many times before without a problem I cannot imagine returning.

A huge group of ladies dining for an event. The food was tasty and the portions just right. We were situated at the back of the Havana area where we were given lots of privacy and looked after very well by the staff. I would highly recommend.
