Wow wee what a find! We’ve just stopped in on our way home from Bristol Airport. The home cooked food was outstanding. The beef stew is to die for. As for the bread and butter pudding, I have no words. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Looking for a lighter not chip filled lunch today and google came up with The White Hart.Called to check if a table was free and the wonderfully polite lady (owner) said of course, dog friendly and apologised for not serving chips, but the food was home made. Right up our and street and in our opinion should not have to apologise. Sure we all love a good chip but for us it was a breath of fresh air and it was what we were looking for.Met with a friendly welcome and such normal polite owners. Could not have been better with our children and dog.The food was fantastic. Ploughman’s, jacket potatoes and sandwiches were the order of the day. My ploughman’s was yummy.Kids played some pool and had free reign of the juke box which is always a welcome treat.Again such lovely people and happy to chat and welcome you. Apologies I didn’t catch your names, but if you see this thank you. We’ll be back next year. Please go here.

My friend and I, plus her small dog, went for lunch to this charming country pub. We both had the Ploughman's lunch. It was delicious. The owners were welcoming. We will go again.

I stopped here for refreshments after a hard walk up & down the Mendips to Crook Peak and back - an absolutely beautiful hike! In the area to collect my daughter from Bristol Airport, only a few minutes away in driving time, but a world away In real life. This boozer has EVERYTHING.. - incredible location in the Mendips - heart of a lovely quiet village - easy parking on road - regulars out front watching the world go by - very warm welcome inside - really quick, efficient service - proper traditional saloon bar on the right - great selection of beers.. I loved the Shipyard on a warm day - proper pork scratchings - amazing beautiful quiet beer garden backing onto the hills Thank you so much! We’ll be back!

A great, picturesque family run country pub in a very nice little village near to Cheddar. Stone walls and beams greet you as you walk into the pub, and there is a good beer garden for that warmer weather. The main bar area is a comfortable drinking/eating area and there is a games room on the other side of the bar. There was a choice of two well-kept real ales on my visit, so I tried one of each.I would highly recommend this pub as a stop off if you are in the area.Dog friendly. ?

Was at the dog end of a long, long bike ride and I'd been fantasising about a cola and salted snacks for at least 25km. These lovely people had just opened and greeted me warmly and made those dreams come true. A great welcome, lovely looking line up of beers, I'll be back!

Totally and fabulously authentic. If you want it genuine, local and real this is it. Absolute gem of a place. If the weather is good one of the best pub gardens we’ve ever seen
