Had lunch on Sunday - beef was TERRIBLE - fatty and chewy. (A good work-out for the arms trying to cut.) The veg was ok and drinks good. My son enjoyed his scampi and chips. The lady serving must of been having a bad day - I wont judge, she may have had some terrible news that morning. Some of the money was refunded, however a meal to forget.

On our first trip to the UK we stopped in to the Coeur De Lion Pub for cider and lunch. Atmosphere is very local, and very friendly. Staff was wonderfully kind to us, very friendly, and since we ate outside brought our meal out to us as well. I hadn't tried Steak and Ale pie before, but for the next week after eating here I was chasing the same meal that I had here at the Coeur De Lion, Steak and Ale pie with garden peas. All in all between London, Bath and Brighton, I had 4 Steak and Ale pies over 10 days, and the variety offered here was simply the best. The Coeur de Lion seems to be a locals pub, if there is such a thing in Bath. Sequestered down an alley and out of the way, you'd have to either be lost, or looking for it, in order to find it. It is worth the trip, and next time we are in Bath we will visit again.

Looking for good value lunch and found this pub with specials board. Fish finger sandwich stood out so my wife had that which was huuuge. I had the calamari with garlic mayo and chips and a pint which was also very tasty. Lovely historical pub, friendly staff. Perfect.

Definitely a local pub. We had a nice table outside since the inside space was tight. Ordered and paid inside, took our own drinks outside, and waited for the food. It was delivered after a while. I had the pie and mash, which was good, but the onion gravy was from a mix. The pie was hand-made, and the potatoes were fresh. A good experience just to be in such an authentic pub.

Excellent shop selling gifts and beers from a really good brewery. I can recommend the Bellringer beer. Been back several times now to buy presents for family and friends. Excellent ?

Tiny pub, that’s v interesting but the lady behind the bar was less than welcoming, in fact if it wasn’t for a tour we were on I would have left. Such a shame as the ale was good

Wonderful little pub, strongly recommend a visit when in the city. You need to be comfortable rubbing shoulders with others in this place.

This little gem is a must whenever we go to Bath. Good beers, fab food and very friendly people. Ella was our bar person when we visited recently, bright, funny and welcoming. A small but perfectly formed delight.

Popped in for a drink. There is seating upstairs. Bar area is tiny and cramped. Found the price for drinks a bit expensive.

Very friendly staff and clean toilets , A good selection of beers and lagers. A real gem and this should be rolled out nationally as how to do it.

Small pub in the centre of Bath, with additional seating upstairs. Served a selection of Abbey Ales which were very nice. Busy with regulars and tourists. Would have given 5 stars had it not been for an abrupt bar lady and the smell emanating from the basement toilets.

This is a lively, cozy, and small pub in the heart of Bath. The downstairs bar is in fact tiny. It serves as a pub for the local Abbey Ales, with their beer on cask. They also have the real draught Bass Pale Ale cask-conditioned (not the usual bottled stuff), a great classic ale and not easy to find in its proper form. The Abbey Ales shop is also right next door. Staff were very friendly.
