Rosy and her staff were so welcoming and friendly, and service was impeccable. The venue was very comfortable and cosy. The food was top class and couldn’t fault it at all. Will definitely be back again. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Back again for another Birthday celebration. Other tables, civilised and well behaved - ours like a playgroup party! We were well looked after and really well fed (Xmas dinner). Always a pleasure.Kid-friendliness: Grandchildren had a great time.

I had a delightful Christmas meal with my colleagues at that place. The food was delicious, and the interior was adorned with beautiful Christmas decorations, creating a lovely atmosphere.

I had a lovely Christmas meal with friends at the Bathwick today. The staff were attentive and polite. I was disappointed with the selection of vegetarian options and that they only had vegan options. However the food was delicious and I was impressed with the flavours! I had the lemon hummus and the risotto.I cannot fault them aside from wishing for a few more options and maybe an extra toilet as there is only one male and female.

I contacted the Bathwick Boatman in advance as I have several food intolerances. They were excellent in dealing with this issue, great communication and I felt confidently reassured that they had taken everything into account. We went with friends, just visiting for the weekend for Christmas markets. I have already recommended the restaurant to many friends and will certainly be rebooking whenever we are in the area. We had the set menu which had great choices , we all had excellent food and wine, excellent service and atmosphere was fantastic. Thank you very much to Rosy and the team!

Such a beautiful restaurant with friendly and efficient staff. Our 'Christmas' lunch was wonderful, as everything was tasty and cooked to perfection. The meat, roast potatoes, Yorkshires, veg, stuffing and gravy were all lovely. The puddings were delicious. The Christmas tree, lights, decorations and crackers made this a lovely early Christmas celebration with family. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is in a beautiful location over looking the river. My group of 11 travelled to Bath to see the Christmas market. We booked lunch and chose the 3 course Christmas menu option which was a reasonable price. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. I had fish of the day, it was so tasty. Rosy and her staff team were attentive, and couldn’t do enough to ensure that we had a fantastic lunch experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed. I will definitely eat there again. And highly recommend it.

The booking for the Friday evening meal for 2 was made via e-mail conversations, direct with the restaurant, and proved to be quick, easy and efficient. It is suggested that no matter when you are going that a reservation is made in advance to ensure you get a table. The restaurant, housed in an old rowing clubhouse, is situated on the river a short walk from the city centre and does have some parking for those who are driving. The overall atmosphere is that of a light, modern and has a quirky sense of décor (boats hanging from the ceiling for example), is somewhat open plan with the adequate number of tables effectively spread out. There is an outside balcony, overlooking the river, but on this occasion, it was too cold to use. On arrival we were greeted, shown to our table and, have to say, the service provided throughout was very attentive and quite polite, with no rush to order. The evening menu had a fixed price for 2 or 3 courses, with supplements against certain items and, whilst not extensive, has a diverse range of dishes that should provide something for all tastes (GF is available on request). The wine menu was equally diverse, but again not extensive. All dishes are made from scratch, featuring, where possible, seasonal and local ingredients cooked fresh to order. Well worth the wait as they were good quality, well presented to a high standard (compliments to the chef on this), with decent portions being served and were considered, along with the wine, as being good value for money. Items of note from our chosen dishes included the starter of ‘Smoked Salmon’ and the main of ‘Sea Bass’ (Todays catch) – both well worth having a try along with a portion of ‘Chips’. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and would use it again if visiting Bath.

We visited the Boatman for Sunday lunch after a day at the Bath Christmas markets. It offered us the perfect atmosphere to relax and warm up. It is clearly very popular, but didn’t feel over crowded or rowdy. Our meals were generous and the menu offered a good selection of roast meats, starters and puds, especially for the price. Super service and a homely atmosphere away from the hubbub of the city centre.

Due to mistake where we thought we had booked here and hadn’t, we found ourselves calling on a Thursday evening trying to book for the next day. Clearly meant to be because they had their last table available for our party of seven. We had a lovely evening celebrating a reunion of friends and our daughters birthday. The Christmas atmosphere in the restaurant was fab and the whole place joined our rendition of Happy Birthday. Food was excellent, service a delight and great value after a day at the Bath Christmas markets. And it has parking!

We came here for my wife’s birthday on the 1st and we’re promptly greeted by the loveliest staff you’d ever meet! Talked with the owner as she sat us down, had a lovely conversation followed by a delicious lunch meal!
