Left Chequers following poor, inefficient service and arrived here on the back foot. Greeted by professional, friendly staff and a good Sunday roast. Can’t thank these guys enough for rescuing my birthday. Chequers staff could learn so much from the staff here.

We called in for supper and a few drinks. Ordered a pint and a half of bitter and two fish and chips. I presented my card and realised I had been charged over £50. This I challenged. Firstly a 10% Service Charge had been added. For what? We walked in, found a vacant table, walked to the bar and placed our order. So we received the same level of service as offered in any Wether spoons. The bar man also managed to get the two drinks wrong and overcharged. I once again politely pointed this out. The barman required help from the lady in charge. I felt somewhat humiliated by her demeanor and abruptness. The ale was fine and the food disappointing.

Terrible experience. Came on the day of the Bath Half post-race and were told it would be a 40-45 minute wait for food at the time of ordering, which we accepted on a busy Sunday for 3 beef roasts and a burger. We paid upon ordering and later queried with a member of staff whether they could check if our food was coming out soon as we’d waited over an hour. The guy then came back and told us they couldn’t find our ticket and our order hadn’t gone through, despite us being charged when we ordered. No apology was offered for the waste of 1 hour 10 minutes of our time and lack of food/ being charged for an order which was apparently not on the system. We were then told we’d had to wait again for our food so decided to leave and get a refund. Nobody seemed to care about the customer experience and ours ended wholly negative. Would not recommend.

A lovely pub with a great atmosphere and really good food. The staff were all great, and we all enjoyed our food and cocktails. Will certainly be dropping back in whenever we are in Bath.Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options available here, certainly enough to feel well catered for.

Fairly busy at lunchtime , service was quick and the food was superb.Pie of the day couldn't be faulted and the Mussels were delicious. Good range of beers and the Garrick Head bitter is recommended.

Not cheap, keep an eye on the service charge.

Good choice of drinks, including seasonal mulled cider. However the righthand bar was very cold.

We ordered a Caesar salad that had no chicken, another salad with nuts and raisins that had suspiciously bad tasting, a horrible burger and a sunday roast with an excellent pie, but hard vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding that looked two days old judgy by its hardness. The service was kind of average, or a bit below, since the food took longer than in other places, but they were kind and made room for us even though they were busy

Let's face it, I come from Spain, and I compare it with the quality there. £17.95 (+10% service) for a burger like McDonald's seemed insulting. Supermarket bread, a (bad) grilled steak and little else. Very very improvable.
