Fantastic food, excellent service, although you do pay for

While I cannot really fault the food, which was a lovely succession of tasty morsels or the service, which even included a birthday card, I must say that the atmosphere was lacking. This was due to the fact that we were the only diners. It did not help that when we had finished and paid the not inconsiderable bill, we saw the chefs leaving through the restaurant. I felt we'd put them out and that they couldn't wait until we'd left to exit.Vegetarian options: Of the two tasting menus one is completely vegetarian (and yummy).

AVOID.We had dinner at Henry's after booking it for our trip down to Bath. We are no strangers to fine dining and enjoy going for luxury meals when we get a break from the kids.Henry's looked great and had great reviews, having tried the olive tree (excellent) and other high end restaurants in bath before. The restaurant is a little bare bones in terms of decor but we don't tend to mind as that appears to be the fashion these days. However the table rocked so it felt like we were eating on a bucking bronco. We went for the 5 course tasting menu at £75 pp. Not the most expensive but still at around £200 for dinner it's not a cheap meal.Wow. Were we disappointed. The food although tasty was ridiculously small. While we understand tasting menus are smaller portions and more dishes having done many before, this was pushing it. My partner kept saying are we being pranked? The courses :Spoonful of crabOne ravioloSome cheese whipA shaving of venisonA nespresso pod size of chocolate fondantThe straw that broke the camels back was the tiny slither of venison offered up as the final savoury dish. Rudolph could satisfy this restaurant for a year! When we raised this with the waiting staff they replied with 'oh we get that all the time' and 'perhaps you should have had the 7 course instead'.Eventually the manager, after the staff established we weren't common folk (not accustomed to the finer things or after some chicken nuggets or a Toby carvery although either would have been more satisfying) decided to grace us with £18 off our meal. All in all, given how hard people work for their money I would not recommend wasting it here.

Great small menu, very good value for lunch at £23 for 2 courses, nice calm service. Make sure you book.

I was looking forward to choosing from the land / sea or farm (Veg). We went for a 5 course tasting menu and were very well looked after and it was a great balanced menu. Not rushed out but with some real quality plates of food. Some creative flavours and styles (crab first course was lovely and the venison was perfect but would of loved the next size up. Sauce was great. Wine was lovely and good choice and a nice environment (not too noisy) well worth a visit for a nice evening out.

Feeling upset that Henry's took £80 cancellation fee. I can see now that the terms on the website say this but when cancelling on the night through the booking email there was no mention of a fee.I understand that last minute cancellations have implications to restaurants but £80 seems unjustifiably steep for a table of 2.

A wonderful place, very friendly staff who are very knowledgeable. Being a vegetarian I was very pleasantly surprised with the 7 course tasting menu, this is often overlooked in this style of restaurant but all the courses are fantastic and very intentional. A gem in the centre of Bath ⭐.

Treated someone to a very special meal there. Relaxed, calm setting where the food takes centre stage. Staff all knowledgeable, sommelier absolutely passionate. Delicious food and adventurous wine pairings. Didn't take a single photo of the food because I couldn't wait to eat it! Thank you for a marvellous evening.

The place is a casual setting. Two floors of dining. The place looks like it was once a dwelling turned restaurant. Rustic wooden tables and chairs and wood floors with minimal art on the walls. A selection of a 5 or 7 course tasting menu with an option of a cheese course (12 pound suppliment) before the dessert. There is a wine pairing option, but we opted for a bottle of our selection. The service is welcoming but haphazard. Missing silverware mostly. The biggest mistake was when we were given the cheese course after our 4th course (the server had mistaken the pigeon for the sirloin) . This mistake made the next course 26 minutes after the previous one. As my husband pointed out, this mistake isn't just the fault of the server, but kitchen as well. This was just one of the issues. The food. Let me begin by saying the first 3 courses were absolutely fabulous. The crispy fish skin and the asian slaw in the crab course worked very well. The lamb raviolo was exceptional (a very mediterrian feel with the yogurt). The compte was a take of cheese and crackers and delightful. Thats about where it ends. The flavors for the pigeon, monk fish and sirloin could have been more adventurous. All 3 dishes lacked luster. Although there were singular components on the dish that were good, as a whole it didn't really work and it was quite boring and fairly plain in flavor. Not to mention that that the sirloin was over cooked verging on a medium well. The monk fish was also over and tough. Although, my husband thought his piece was well cooked. Not to mention, there was blood on my plate running from the pigeon. My husband tells me that pigeon is usually served medium rare. We passed on the cheese course, and there was a brief shining light in the end with the dessert. But it couldn't make up for the faults of the pigeon, monkfish and sirloin. Not worth the price or the automatically added 12.5% gratuity. There are plenty of great restaurants in Bath. Henry's is not worth a return trip for the price.Vegetarian options: Vegitarian tasting menu option.

Gorgeous tiny restaurant tucked away in the backstreets just out of the touristy city centre. We had the 2 course lunch menu at £26 per head. Stunning value for such wonderful quality - every mouthful was delicious. Lovely service. Spotlessly clean. A+++

Interesting and quite imaginative 5-course tasting menu. Only criticism is that four of the five course were based around cream. Good service, nice atmosphere.

We had a fantastic anniversary dinner, it was wonderful. Romantic, amazing food and wine (definitely recommend the wine pairing, the sommelier was very knowledgeable and the wine was great)Highlights were the compte and duck!

Fantastic position in a quiet street in the centre of Bath. Great ambience, attentive and well informed waiting staff. Fantastic flavours and textures to the varied dishes, monkfish was a favourite !! Cannot fault any os the dishes, just make sure you have a hearty 3 course meal about an hour before your reservation ! (unless you are a stick insect vegan)

Took myself out on a date and Henry's was an excellent choice. Great location. It's in the city center but nicely tucked in on a smaller street so it's very intimate. The restaurant has a very welcoming vibe. Chic and cozy interior. Most importantly, the food was delicious! I went for the Farm & Sea seven course tasting menu. Everything tasted and looked so good. It was difficult for me to pick my favorite but the lamb, duck, monkfish, and purple yam definitely stood out for me. I was so excited to eat I forgot to take that many pictures. Service was also great. Got to meet Henry, the chef/owner, and I could tell he really cares about being a responsible restaurant/business. 100% going again and will bring friends/family with me.
