My girlfriend very kindly booked a weekend here for my birthday. We weren’t in the main hotel but what’s described as “The Lodge” which sounds lovely but turned out to be the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. The room was tiny with the door opening straight into the bedroom and the bed taking up pretty much all of the floor space. The first thing we noticed was a massive puddle on the bathroom floor as the plumbing to the sink was leaking which we reported to reception. The lock on the front door was hanging off as it had screws missing. The door frame was covered in mould and the windows were wet with condensation. The radiator didn’t work and the thermostat on the wall was broken. The handle on the window was hanging off and when I opened the window it dropped in one corner and almost fell out. There was no soap in either of the two dispensers in the bathroom. We went into Bath for the evening returning at about midnight and the leak hadn’t been fixed and the puddle was now larger. The hotels solution, chuck some towels on top of it. The following day we spoke to reception and we’re “offered” to upgrade to the main hotel for our last night but would have to pay a fee. The fee? £300! We declined this offer and instead opted to move to another room in The Lodge. This room was better but still not worth the price. Bath itself was lovely and we will definitely visit it again but we will never be returning to this Hotel.

This restraint / bar is near the River Avon. Quite and spacious. With polite and helpful staff, I popped in here before boarding the River cruise.

Used this hotel rather than stay in the centre of Bath, it is only a few minutes bus ride from the top of the road to the centre. Nice hotel, we had a superior double overlooking the river - not a very spacious room, but everything we needed, including a fan (much appreciated in the hot weather). A little disappointed that on arrival we were told the restaurant was closed but the receptionist directed us to Bathampton Mill just a few minutes walk over the toll bridge. This restaurant was excellent. The room and the hotel were clean and all the staff welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was very good.

We were allocated a room in the Lodge which is separate from the hotel adjacent to the car park. On entering the room, I didn't expect the door would lead directly into the bedroom. The room felt cramped with a narrow space between the end of the bed and the wall and as it was ground floor it seemed a bit gloomy. Noise and light from cars in car park directly outside our room was at times slightly alarming. We were unaware at the time of booking that the restaurant would be closed and this really inconvenienced us. When we were ready for dinner, we had to decide between losing our precious car parking space by taking the car out or struggle to walk (with disabilities) to nearby pub. Between the cost of the room, the closed restaurant and with an additional £10 for parking (even though we had a Blue Badge) it seemed a bit much. I understand that the car park land is not owned by the hotel and there may be little they can do about this, but access for anyone with disabilities is difficult at best. However, it was clean, and suited our purpose for the night. Breakfast was OK.

Lovely rooms and fantastic staff!!!! I've arrived to the hotel today and unfortunately the restaurant was closed for food however Ellie on reception and Jess the waitress were incredibly helpful. Jess showed me to a table downstairs and showed me where I could order some takeaway dinner. The area I was seated was lovely so I felt comfortable settling down for the evening and having a couple of glasses of wine. Jess has been absolutely fantastic I could not praise her more as a waitress. She is so chatty and bubbly and after a long day on the road working her energy just picked me right up! She's been a delight and if I ever come back to Bath I wohld stay here just for that reason.

My tour guide Charmaine Holbrook took us for an amazing dinner. She was knowledgeable on the area and the hotel. The manager, Rui Esteves, was so friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a wonderful evening. The food was outstanding. I recommend anyone to come and visit and stay here as well. 10/10.

Nice clean room, river view, breakfast was full service- eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, marmite, section of butter, honey and jams as well as yogurts. No cheese and fresh fruit which would have been nice to have. We have a fan in our room and the weather was delightful. We also enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant which- we ordered pork ribs and chicken Ceasar salad(too good as they char grilled the lettuce). Will definitely come back!

A lovely two night stay at the Mill. The receptionist was so helpful and pleasant throughout the stay. Staff were all extremely friendly too. Accommodation, restaurant and bar were first class. Beautiful views of the river with the old water wheel. Good parking was a bonus. Buses into Bath City were every 20mins.

We were here on our anniversary and we really enjoyed our stay. Such a picturesque place! 7 min by car or taxi to the centre, walking 45-50 min. Big thanks to the staff that were ALL very friendly and helpful. When you as a guest feel that you are welcomed is important. English breakfast was also good. A variety of choice. A little minus that there is no air conditioner, only a little fan. So can be hard to stay during a heatwave.

We rolled up at 7:30PM with a party of 9, and these guys were more than happy to accommodate us and give us a wonderful evening experience. The food and service was great, warm, friendly and hospitable, all in a unique setting. Thank you.

This place needs to take a long hard look at itself. We are in 2023 but it offers no disabled access to reception and no lift, this is despite it obviously having had a lot spent refurbishing the interior. The exterior is dreary, dirty, drab and in some places downright dangerous with cables draped everywhere. Worryingly is the state of the decking outside of the bar area. The handrails and posts are near to collapse and there are splinters and rusty screws poking out all over the place. The deck furniture is in an equally poor state. On arrival we were asked if we had any special dietary needs, we said 'Yes my wife is diabetic and requires a low sugar and low carbohydrate diet'. Breakfast consists of sweetened fruit juices, cereals and yogurts where the second ingredient is sugar and not a lot else. There is no continental option, no fresh fruit, no cheese or ham, no plain yogurt only supermarket sliced bread. The full English option was OK but very unchanging, day one the eggs ran out, day two hash browns ran out and day three, black pudding ran out, we had to ask for them to be replenished. There is no vegetarian option other than to have mushrooms, egg and tomato. We dined in the 'Rolling Mill' restaurant one night and ordered showing our key and assuming the bill would be added to our charges, wrong as we discovered when we were tracked down in the car park by the restaurant manager asking us to return and pay 'because they are separate entities'. Strange that when our credit card bill arrives the charge is for the Mill Hotel. The food wasn't that fantastic either. Our room was very small as was the double bed, the curtain was coming adrift from the rail. There is no air-con so in the recent heat wave the room became unbearable, leave the door open and in come flies and mozzies from the adjoining river. The car parking is a scandal, to obtain a permit there is a £10 charge - it doesn't matter how long you stay, one night or twenty it's £10. So everyone arriving in a car has to purchase a permit - one wonders how many arrive by any other means. Allowing for the staff cars and extra room taken up by contractors staying overnight and bringing vans, space is at a premium, go out for an evening and when you return the chances of finding a space with your £10 permit are nil. This 'permit' (there's no physical ticket or indication) seems a quick way of adding £10 to every bill. There is no street parking only a pay and display on the other side of the river about 300m away. To crown it all on our first morning we were awakened at 5.15am by the laundry delivery truck who spent the next half hour dragging large wheeled containers of laundry back and forth across the car park right under our window. If the car park wasn't so choked full he might be able to get closer. On the day we checked out were we asked if everything was OK and did we enjoy our stay, NO! In response to the question would you stay here again - Not under any circumstances.
