Service from the waiter was amazing as he had so much to do! Shame the food was poor, and most needed to go back or was inedible. Tried eating here on two separate occasions as thought perhaps the first time was just a one off. Returned for a Sunday Roast and the Beef was inedible and could sole your shoes, and the veg was raw. The whole meal was cold and the table of four next to us had the same experience. The venue itself is very picturesque but the cold and poor quality food lets it down massively. We also stayed in minus temperatures yet the wonderful log fire didn’t see a match. Lodges lovely but wouldn’t return here again which is a huge missed opportunity for the site. Please address this and we’d try again….

Staff were great but not enough of them to serve our event properly. Mix match of glasses as not enough of one type. Serving instant coffee when cafetieres had been promised/booked.

Booked for Tuesday had a phone call to say only one chef so only pies on the menu so booked for Wednesday to be told curry only ( one chef) so tried for Thursday told burger and pizza only ( one chef) Was told would be back to normal menu Friday so booked a table. On arrival they had no reservation under our name ( no issue as only one family in) but then told curry only on the menu due to only one chef 5 star not even one star stayed for one week and have been unable to eat in the restaurant! Not good enough

Two starters ordered - acceptable, but not great. Four main courses - two fish and chips were good (hurrah), one pulled pork taco - small portion and the sides were cold. Mushroom stroganoff - quite honestly the WORST thing I’ve ever eaten !! A bit like a tasteless French onion soup with mushrooms floating in broth. Two cheesecake desserts - one arrived collapsed and mushy, the other frozen. On the upnote the young waiter was lovely.

We had a Sunday roast here and we came away agreeing it was just about value for money. Between us we had the chicken and beef roast and a kids dinner. The portion sizes were good, both meats were acceptable but our recommendations were that they either used proper sliced roast chicken or maybe a boned cut as the breasts were very dry and flavourless. The beef was tasty but quite fatty so had a lot of waste. All the veg, inc roasties, just felt like they needed 5 more mins roasting/cooking. All hard on the inside. We all agree there was also a distinct lack of seasoning on everything, luckily the gravy was on point and masked the lack of seasoning. I have to say it came out piping hot, which is a massive plus in my book. Kid meal was enjoyed thoroughly, but from a patents perspective it seemed underwhelming given its near £8 price tag. Eton mess pudding was spectacular - no fault at all. Staff lovely and friendly, and location and cleanliness top marks. Overall, really enjoyed the experience and we would come again. And just a few minor tweaks would make the food on a level (and above) with other Sunday roast restaurants in the area.

This is a great restaurant on site of The Bath Mill lodge retreat, meals are varied and well priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the times we ate there.

The food was excellent but the service was awful we went there 3 times one at lunch time which was fine the second evening meal very slow service and because of this they were waiting to close and we had not finished but felt hurried then went for Sunday lunch which wad lovely but service again very bad starter was fine waited over 43 mins for main then again over 30 mins for desert which in the end my husband had to go and ask where it was we spoke to both one of the waiters and we think the manager who didn't really care

My friend and I bought a selection of starters, 5 in all plus chips, the only tasty dish was the pulled pork taco, all else was tasteless, we did complain and approximately £7 taken off bill ! Our bill was £43, even the wine was not great, will not be returning

We were staying at Bath Mill Lodge and decided to go to the onsite restaurant. What a gem. Very helpful friendly staff. The food was delicious, extremely good value and plenty of choice all set in beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended.

Went here for small celebration. People I'm with won't complain but probably should have. Service very slow, even with just three tables full. Food not that wonderful Stroganoff without much dressing, salad had far too much. Burger ok. Restaurant freezing cold - air con too high. No one checked we were happy or if anyone wanted anything else. Just paid bill and left.

Lunch at Brooke's Bar And Bistro after taking a visitor from Norwich on a hard morning's viewing of the entirety of the (cold and windy) Wren's Nest geopark. Not only was the meal a complete restorative - hot and plentiful - but the Pasta Romana was to perfection, and my friend delighted in his steak in a bed of sourdough, each with a rocket salad. He could scarcely believe the value Dudley provided, as opposed to his home city.
