Given they advertise Afternoon Tea on their menu you’d think they’d know how to do it. 3 measly finger sandwiches which were from the fridge and cakes which were all so sweet they tasted the same.My recommendation would be for them to take it off their menu. They’d be doing everyone a favour.

Stayed at the hotel so booked dinner on the first evening. Was not provided with the fixed price menu but had to request it. Food average and restaurant more suitable for breakfast.

Overpriced food from a lackluster kitchen. Hotel it’s in is fine but don’t dine in here, go to Square or Bills.Steak was chewy and unpleasant, got two pieces of calamari with the whitebait and calamari.

We had our Christmas party here and it was a disaster. Too many people on each table so uncomfortably close. Food over an hour late, our table by the door that wafts cigarette stench every 5 mins, didn’t get any bread or coffee like every other table. Soup arrived in a right state and looked inedible. Turkey came with one undercooked potato. Chocolate tart was somehow basic and covered in marmalade. Wine choice very cheap and tasted gross. Tables weren’t cleared for hours, staff miserable and DJ only played requests so some pretty horrendous song choices. Would never return.

We had dinner inside the hotel due to bad weather. It was a quiet night and the staff was very attentive. The food served was piping hot likely due to the smaller number of tables to serve. The pasta was tasty. While the grilled cod was average, the flat iron steak stood out as a true culinary delight. Desserts were satisfying too. While the prices were on the higher side, the food exceeded our expectations.

I stayed at the Apex for 5 days with Breakfast included. Each day the wait got longer and long waiting for our food and hit drinks. Then everytime our food came it was either cold, very tiny enough for a small child or burnt! Very unacceptable!

'Charcuterie board' was literally sliced sandwich cheese and salami from a supermarket! Noodles were in a sea of sweet sauce that I think was from a jar. Service was very pleasant, food unfortunately not of the right standard.

The food was delicious. Everything was well cooked, hot and just what we were after following a busy day. Would highly recommend. The service was lovely too...very attentive and kind.

We decided to eat in the hotel for our first evening and we were the only people in there for most of the night. This meant we had fabulous service from the waiter, who was friendly and chatty but also gave us space. The restaurant itself is large and contemporary, and in-keeping with the rest of the hotel. The food was tasty (we both had steak which was a special that evening) although the menu choice was a little lacking. I'm lactose intolerant so the pudding selection in particular was limited (just the addition of a sorbet would be good), although the cocktail selection was excellent! Overall, I would recommend the restaurant - especially for those who are staying at the hotel.
