No.15, a boutique Guest House and restaurant and, first stop, cocktails with it’s weird and wonderful bar fashioned in scalloped leather scales to resemble exotic fish. Pretty cool place. I have a penchant for lighting and music which, combined, can either create or kill the perfect ambience in equal measure. The backdrop beats were on point, but the lighting was too severe for my liking. Nonetheless I downed an excellent Negroni before we were escorted downstairs to the small (36 covers) convivial restaurant. Like the bar the restaurant has plenty of attention-grabbing details including the vast array of eclectic portraits lining the walls and other odd arts and objects. The menu is welcomingly short with just half a dozen choices for each course which, in turn, gives the Diner assurance that the chef is confident in their ability to nail each one by applying the less is more mantra. For the most part we were served with memorable and seriously good cookery. Focussing on all that was great, I started with Bath chaps (pigs’ cheek) served with smoked bacon, pear relish and endive and followed with duck breast, swede and duck leg boulangère potato with a peppercorn jus. We shared honey roasted root vegetables. All excellent and surprisingly good portions. She kicked-off with ricotta and sage gnocchi which she declared was magnificent and followed with 30-day aged ribeye steak with a port and stilton sauce, roast mushroom and chips. Finally, we two-spooned a sticky toffee pudding in a Bath ale toffee sauce with honeycomb ice cream. Was this culinary perfection ? Well not quite with just a couple of small niggles. The pre-starter bread may have come from the legendary Bertinet Bakery, but it was, in all honesty, bland and served with butter. A personal thing but I prefer an extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic dip. The chips had an odd spry crisp’n dry after taste. The bill came in at a reasonable £132 (including 10% service).

This Rest really deserves to do well. Small menu with excellent food (chocolate mouse REALLY good), attentive service, loved the decor. Out of curiosity walked through the bar. Curiosity tables, something to discover all over. Reception with breathtaking chandelier. Wish I could afford the hotel (and they are dog friendly)

We went to the bar at Number 15 for afternoon cocktails. All the cocktails we tried were lovely and the bar man was very attentive. Highly recommended if you want to have drinks in quirky surroundings.

It's a nice place with friendly staff. They got me a chair from upstairs when it was clear that, being disabled, the 'designer chair' was a nonsense. Their attention to details leaves a bit to be desired though as my finished plate was left in front of me for a long time. The food is, unfortunately, pretty average, but the prices are not. Crispy squid coating was too heavy. Duck fat chips weren't chips but some sort of potato concoction. Charcuterie board could have been from Waitrose. Etc etc. Puddings were disappointing too. Bottle of Rioja £36, brandy double £16. £150 - hmmmmmm.

A misunderstanding when I arrived (I was early) made me want to walk out,. Fortunately the manager - Alex - persuaded me to stay. I’m glad he did. The food and service were fabulous. I would happily go back.

Hugely disappointing birthday lunch. In February we enjoyed your lunch set menu, delicious and reasonably priced. Today, the a la carte menu was unrecognisable with sky high prices. We stayed out of embarrassment, ate a hugely expensive and sparce salad and went elsewhere. Check the menu before you book!

Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter as a late Mother’s Day treat yesterday, beautiful location , service excellent and food was divine. More people should use but a bit out of the way but can highly recommend. We had the duck , delicious and so yummy ? and cooked to perfection and well seasoned with potatoes, and veg. Great wine too. And desserts . Couldn’t fault and would go again

I was staying in the area and the lights and design of this establishment caught my design led imagination. I therefore booked lunch so that I could see inside. This was exceptional particularly in light of the three courses for £19 . The ingredients were sublime, the presentation equisite. The service impeccable whilst remaining warm. I then had coffee in the bar which was more my style of design in its creativity. I applaud this place for its bold and large art works which go out on a limb not to simply conform. This is a place I will return to and next time to also include a cocktail.

This hotel is really cute, with unique decor. Our room was third floor, and was cosy with a very comfortable bed. It had a record player, glass bottle of water, Dyson hairdryer, and lovely toiletries. There was a coffee machine/tea maker. You also got use of thee pantry room, with sweets, baked goods, fruit, ice cream, and cans of drink. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was from a menu, either continental (huge choice) or hot meals. Decor, service, and food were all great and added to the experience. The location of the hotel was perfect - a quiet street but close to everything. The staff seemed genuinely enthused about their hotel and were really friendly and helpful. We were quite hot despite it being 0° and they sent up a Dyson fan. There is a spa onsite which we didn’t use. I would love to stay here again.

Went for Sunday lunch. Really lovely quiet restaurant with excellent, friendly service and delicious food. Would definitely go again. Almost faultless except for one thing. The dining chairs were uncomfortable and I'm really intrigued as to how they got chosen, as you could tell they were going to be uncomfortable just by looking at them.

Stayed at the hotel and dined here on our first night. Without doubt the best meal of our three day stay - no other restaurant we tried in Bath came close

I have had lunch here twice in the past month, the first time on the recommendation of friends, the second time to persuade a sceptical friend that it was possible to have an really good lunch in the centre of Bath without paying through the nose. He (and I) shall come again.

We have just returned from a 4 day visit to Bath. We stayed at No. 15, and on the 2nd evening of our visit, having spent the day wondering around the Christmas market, didn’t feel like walking into the city centre for dinner even though we had a restaurant booked. Instead we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. It turned out to be a great decision! The food was delicious and the service attentive without being overly so. The menu, which I guess you’d call Modern British, was varied with plenty of choice and at least a couple of veggie options for both starters and main course. Our starters of smoked salmon and beetroot, and Bath Chaps were particularly good. The chef(s) also definitely know how to cook vegetables - the black truffle dauphinois and kale sides were amazing! There was a good wine list, as well as an extensive choice of cocktails. We enjoyed our meal so much, we booked for the following evening as well. Again, it was excellent and far better than any of the other meals we had Bath. The restaurant was quite quiet on both evenings, which was a shame as it deserves a wider audience. If you’re staying at the hotel, or live in Bath and want somewhere a bit different and special to eat, give it a go. You won’t regret it!

We spent a lovely afternoon at No 15 celebrating my mother in law’s 90th birthday. The tea was beautifully presented and plenty of everything. All the staff were amazing and big thanks to Gabi for the absolutely delicious cakes. Better than the Ritz! Well done.
