Unexpectedly nice place. Thanks, Late Friday booking accepted. Excellent choice of food, fusion options with Spanish twist. One of the best fish pies of last few years.

My friend said it used to be very good but we were very disappointed. the cod croquettes had very little fish in them and the cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower in a white sauce with just a bit of cheese on top. Also the 'bread ' that was £3.95 was just a slice of tasteless toast that we discovered when we mentioned it when we left it was the gluten free. Delivered by mistakeVegetarian options: About the selection you would expect from any restaurant these days but we were disappointed in the cauliflower cheese see above

This marks our third visit to Mary's, primarily for the music, which remains the highlight of our experience. The musicians and the overall ambiance are truly exceptional, and the service consistently meets our expectations.Regrettably, the food falls short, both in terms of flavour and presentation. When we think of tapas, we envision fresh, vibrant Spanish dishes, but the reality was quite different. The dishes we ordered didn't live up to this expectation. While they were acceptable, there is definite room for improvement. If we had seen photos of the tapas before ordering, we might have made different choices. Typically, tapas are known for their simplicity, freshness, and deliciousness, but here, the calamari was deep-fried in a style reminiscent of onion rings, and the cheese selection felt basic in both quality and presentation. Among the choices, the olives stood out as the most enjoyable. Our experience with the main courses was also underwhelming, and we would encourage the restaurant to explore more culinary options, as well as offer the feedback to the chef.Additionally, there's room for improvement in the presentation and etiquette associated with wine ?. It's customary, when a non-house wine is ordered, to open the bottle at the table and offer at least one person a taste before serving. Unfortunately, on several occasions, we selected a non-house wine, and it arrived at our table in a jug. We never saw the bottle, had the chance to taste it, or witnessed the staff opening it. The jugs used were more reminiscent of milk jugs and not the customary way to serve wine. This aspect drew comments from everyone at our table, and addressing this issue could enhance the appreciation of customers when purchasing a bottle of wine. Most significantly, my husband, who has celiac disease, had a severe reaction after consuming what was purported to be gluten-free food at Mary's. We had specifically called to inquire about gluten-free options before making the reservation, and we also informed our waitress about his dietary needs. Despite these precautions, cross-contamination occurred, and he fell ill. This is a serious concern as it poses a significant health risk for individuals with celiac disease. It might be wise for Mary's to reconsider offering gluten-free options unless they can guarantee the prevention of cross-contamination. This experience has left my husband and his celiac community apprehensive about revisiting the bar, which is unfortunate, as the establishment holds great potential.Dietary restrictions: Non gluten free reliable

Love food and service was prompt and friendly. Decor is gorgeous and Mary's is an asset to the Hill Road collection. Only disappointment was most other customers had left by 9:15 pm which reduced the atmosphere!

The paella tasted wonderful .. but it's not authentically made with a paella pan and with a socarrat.

Service was poor, almost non existent. No-one asked us how our food was, during or after our meal, and took a very long time to clear our plates. We had the chicken and chorizo paella which had very little flavour and the rice was so overcooked that is was just mush. The wine selection was minimal, they really should not call themselves a 'wine bar', the options in Vintage and Vine over the road are much better.

A great little wine bar and restaurant in Clevedon, well worth a visit. This was our 2nd time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Freshly cooked food, plenty of gluten free and dog friendly. I had the fish pie which was gluten free and the best I have ever had. It’s perfect for couples, friends or celebrations. Very good selection of wines by the glass, bottle or carafe. We will definitely be going again when we are next in Clevedon.

The wine list, for a wine bar, was very disappointing. Only 4 whites and 3 reds to choose from. The service started off well but was non existent once we ordered our food. We had a chicken and chorizo paella which had very little flavour and the rice was so overcooked it was just a claggy mush. When our plates were eventually tidied away and we were asked how the food was, I gave an honest opinion and was told 'I didn't think it looked great!'. No offer of money off or anything. Generally we were very disappointed and will not be going back as there is a much better wine bar just over the road.

A really nice evening at this restaurant. I have been here quite a few times over the years. I've learnt from the staff that the previous owner has sadly passed away and the restaurant is now run by her daughter. I'm pleased that the restaurant has stayed in the family. Staff were friendly and attentive without being over fussy. Food was lovely. Maybe portion size is slightly small if you only want one main course. Atmosphere good with chilled jazz bubbling away in the background. I like it, been here often and will continue to come back when in area

We had an excellent lunch. It was a Thursday but nearly every table was taken. It’s easy to see why as the food and service was excellent. There is a good selection of tapas, mains and puddings

Ate here last week and ordered the veggie burger. It's served with chips but they were absolutely laden with SALT, so much that I could brush it off!! I don't understand why the chef had to put it on. It's the customer who does it. We all know that salt is bad but to have it poured over my chips BEFORE my meal came to the table, is crazy. If anyone reads this, I'd recommend that you ask for salt not to be added to your chips. I couldn't eat mine. ?
