Absolutely brilliant, great staff and the food was excellent. I have been since and as usual brilliant service and great food. I had a carvery.

Car park small the size of the pub. Service not very good. My family and i had the carvery and the overall opinion the food was cold.

We called in on the way back from Bristol, having passed the door so many times. You enter with the Cavery in front of you. It looked so good, that’s what we decided on. I of course chose the biggest plate, but didn’t need it!! A choice of gammon, beef or turkey, one or all three and the best choice of vegetables I have seen, all self service. There is a full menu as well. But the carvery is great and very good value for money. It’s available 7 days a week. We will definitely return.

This is a amazing place to go and have a big party, We had a party of 30 and the place was packed. The food flew out, half off the menu and half of us had carvery. Chef cooks a great steak and it didn't cost the earth, great value for money. We had a great time and would like to thank all the team for looking after us

I visited this restaurant last night. There was no carvery and the food that was served was absolutely disgusting. There were flies around the food, the lasagna that I ordered was shrivelled and dry, practically inedible. Waitress staff were rude and we were left at the entrance with no acknowledgment for 10mins. Absolutely dreadful and will not be returning.

This Pub shut and had a complete refit, it’s now been completed and Ollie has done a wonderful job, Staff are helpful and friendly, food is lovely and plenty of it, booking is a good idea as weekends get full quickly, but definitely worth visiting.

We visited The Star for the first time today. Had the carvery meal which was excellent. Plenty of vegetables and all the trimmings. Staff were pleasant and the pub is roomy with plenty of tables. We took our drinks outside after to enjoy a dry spell, at last! Good parking and easy to find on the main road east of Congresbury. We will definitely be back.

Great food at great price! We had carvery and could only manage shared deserts! Bit of a slow queue to order but well worth it. Nice touch to find a quiet place for our group as I am hard of hearing. And lovely setting with period beams.

This pub was great many many years ago but I've always avoided it over the past few years as it went significantly down hill. Fabulous to see it is back to its former glory. Had a carvery yesterday for a very reasonable price, the food was fantastic, the decor lovely and the staff were attentive, friendly and provided great service.Will definitely be back for many future visits!
