The food here was awesome well cooked and the steaks done to your request, the service was fab, the gent who bought out the 20 oz mixed grill proudly asked who had ordered the light snack, this was a recommendation from someone else and I can't recommend it enough.

We thought we were in a rip off version of "Karen's Diner"!!The Landlord; (we assume he was the landlord, as anyone else would be sacked for their attitude) was just awful. He was rude, unaccommodating & obnoxious.Firstly when I asked where the beer garden was, a remark was made about me getting cancer when advised where this was.Secondly we were quizzed on why my wife needed cutlery (we were sharing the starter, but were surprised we needed to justify our request, also told him this at the time of ordering),this was then was met with a rude response and then our condiments slung across the table at us.When the food was brought out I when was in the toilet, but again the Landlord started going on about me going for a "cancer stick" again, my wife told him he was rude, to which he replied he wasn't. (This was no way banter, my wife had told him he was being rude and just tried to condone it).The steak was OK, the chips were undercooked and hard. All in all a very bad experience. If we had have been within walking distance to where we were staying we would have simply left after the 1st comment (who wants to be judged on a night out).Save your money and go somewhere that welcomes you, rather than leaves you feeling uncomfortable & judged!!

The Wellington Arms has no airs and graces a small pub with good food and good beer. If you want gastro pub food this is not for you. Great simple pub grub, big portions. Don't miss the steam puddings, absolutely fabulous.

Delicious and hearty homemade food. A very good choice with a fast, friendly service and excellent value for money.

Went there for a simple meal as we passed by, got burgers ? and chips. Think steaks or curry would have been a far better choice.

What a great pub! We were staying at the nearby caravan CL site, popped in for a drink on a Friday evening, and returned the following night for dinner. Booked a table, glad we did as it turned out fairly busy. Food was amazing, and spot on! Superb value for money, the landlord/chef has a fantastic character and really makes the pub what it is. Great pub serving great food. Will definitely return.
