Walking from Bristol to Bath and we came across this pub when we were fancying a drink. A friendly welcome, good real ale and cider. Got the munchies and ordered a baguette and a side of chips and salad..... Delicious. Thanks for your warm and welcoming hospitality.

We had the iron steak and I can honestly say that it was one of the best meals I've ever had, the chef came out to check on us to see how thing were tasting, to be honest I like that he took the time to come and see us, I would 100% recommend the Bird in hand for the food and the views are fantastic to match, keep up the great work! We will a million percent be coming back again soon !

Food was really good, very disappointed on drinks, a brandy £8.50 with dash of lemonade £3, so £11.50 in total for 1 drink, our other drinks reasonable

After completing a half marathon along the railway path, we found ourselves at this pub. The menu was quite adventurous, featuring dishes such as potted smoked mackerel and excellent whitebait. We also enjoyed their substantial chips. Our midweek lunch here was delightful, served by a team of young, amiable, and efficient staff. Kudos to BIH for earning a 5/5 from us.During a spontaneous stop on our walk from Bristol to Bath, we were warmly welcomed by the bar team. Overall, it was a great discovery and definitely a place we’d consider revisiting.

Stopped on the off chance while walking Bristol to Bath. A very warm welcome from the bar team at the tone. Menu was varied and well priced. Food lived up to expectation, compliments to the chef and kitchen team. All in all a good find and somewhere worth returning to.

I booked for 4 people. The meal was good. However my guest was fined for parking failing to register car. We appealed and although the owner accepted what we said in spite of signs my friends who arrived ten minutes after me were not aware and no staff warned them. The owner said he could not vouch for us even that we were the last people in the car park. We wrote to parking company and they showed no consideration no refund. We were LEGALLY PARKED. We did not go off for a walk or abuse our stay.BEWARE.

Soggy undercooked pastry & margarine on the vegetables! Who puts margarine on the vegetables in 2024 - place is like a throwback to the 70’s.
