A truly wonderful experience. They adapted their menu for me, which is rare these days. I miss out on a lot of occasions with family and friends because of my dietary requirements, but they couldn't have been more helpful. The food was delicious! Super friendly, great atmosphere, and excellent service. Everywhere was spotless. Highly recommend Augustus restaurant. It was my first visit, but it won't be my last!Dietary restrictions: I emailed ahead and asked for something plain as I can't eat spicy or heavily seasoned food. They were very accommodating and did me a plain chicken breast with new potatoes and vegetables. It was delicious!

Myself and my partner managed to get a short notice booking the day of Taunton carnival. Staff really accomodating, and venue beautifully tucked away in the centre of town. Food amazing quality and certainly not something you'd see on an everyday menu. Two starters, two mains and an alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink came to less than £100... mind you we both probably had the most expensive dishes on the menu so really good value!We would definitely recommend the steak tartar, not only delicious but a really good portion size too!Will definitely visit again, and hopefully when neither of us are driving so we can both sample the amazing wine and port menu

We tend to visit Taunton at least twice a year and this is the best restaurant in town. Fish is our thing so we enjoy good food cooked by Richard and looked after by Cedric, Maitre D

Augustus is the best restaurant in Taunton by a country mile. Fabulous food, the best bottle of Shiraz I’ve had in years (for £36 - good value for a restaurant) and fantastic service. It was full on a Friday evening, and that says more than words. However, words are required here, so I would add that last weekend I paid £29 for a burnt veal chop at a pub near Sainsbury’s and this week I spent £26 on as good a lamb dish as you could possibly want to eat. No comparison whatsoever. We could have had 3 courses from the fixed price menu for £38, which has to be the best value haute cuisine in the country.

Our family enjoyed a very delicious lunch for my Birthday celebration and we all thank Richard, Peter ( and Cedric) plus all the staff for such a wonderful, and happy time. The food was excellent as always, with a terrific choice menu and beautifully cooked and presented dishes. The ambiance was lovely. We especially thank you for going above and beyond with special requests……oh and the fizz/ wine was great too.
Fantastic place, we went there to celebrate our anniversary as a special occasion and we're warmly welcomed. Enjoyed the seasonal food, even myself as a fussy vegetarian enjoyed the veggie option. Will definitely go again, is a treat place for special occasions (for us anyway)Vegetarian options: Only one vegetarian main usually so best to check if fussy but delicious if you go for it.
