All I'd imagined and more...beautiful setting, no overcoming, attentive but not intrusive or hurried service. Genuine warm welcome and superb food. Can't wait to return!

This was an exceptional meal for a large group family celebration, catering from ages 2 to 83. We were there to celebrate my parents diamond wedding anniversary and quite honestly this was some of the finest food I’ve eaten. We sat at the chef’s table which suited us well. And coming from London/Surrey borders this is the rarest and finest of restaurant finds. Absolutely delicious. From yellow fin tuna tartare to start, to venison haunch with spiced beetroot and sweet potatoes to sesame and dark chocolate tart with sorbet. Just sublime. Seriously this is one of those places you almost don’t want to tell people about because it is just so lovely, but also we want to reflect the high quality and fabulous service we received at Podshavers. Thank you team Podshavers

What a lovely, lovely place. The courtyard setting and the main restaurant are both fantastic The welcome warm and friendly. The food really excellent and with some of the dishes, really quite dazzling. We - three of us - went for the 'small plates' session, running from around 1.00 on Saturday. We sampled seven of the different dishes on the menu and finished off with three puddings from the a la carte menu. We were advised that the small plates where reasonably substantial and perhaps not to order too many too quickly. But our excitement at the wonderful menu selection led us to go a bit mad. None of us needed dinner that night! Podshavers is about a 15 minute drive from Taunton. A local taxi firm will take you and pick you up if you want to enjoy a few drinks - the owner will advise you which taxi firm to book. Either way this place is well worth the journey out - it really is very special.

We’ve eaten here several times and had always had a fantastic time. The food is wonderful and the service goes above and beyond. I’m a coeliac and the majority of the menu is (or can be) gluten free options and the staff are very knowledgable about allergens. Highly recommended

Exceptional brunch. Everything was absolutely delicious (and fabulous Bloody Marys!). We can’t wait to return.

I had the pancakes off the brunch menu and it was fantastic. Everyone was very talkative to us and I liked that. The food was very nice and I wish to go again.

The food was really really good and the restaurant was lovely. The chef came over to say hello to us and the staff were all kind!

This restaurant is second to none for food and service. The fact that they buy the very best local ingredients shows in the taste. The presentation of the food shows how well the whole staff group work together to give you the best experience possible. Not a cheap meal, but one you will remember.

2nd visit.. again couldn’t fault the service or food! They were really accommodating with my awkward food order which is honestly the nicest touch! Nothing was too much trouble! I really appreciate this type of service. Beef and pork were delicious! Great flavours great potions.. will defo be coming back and continue to recommend to friends ! Sad to see the roast board has disappeared off the menu however!

What a fabulous place. Loved the setting and ambiance, celebrating belated birthday. Staff were very welcoming, timings of courses spot on, attentive enough without being excessive. Food delicious, tasted every bit as perfect as it looked.

I booked the restaurant for my mums birthday and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The food, ambience and Jenny’s team were fabulous. The drive up into the Quantocks is well worth the journey. I will definitely be recommending this hidden gem to my friends and family as well as my guests at The Cheese Room

Food was lovely, good quality and very tasty. Having read the other reviews here I am reluctant to say anything negative, however if I could improve anything it would be the service, just a bit. While the staff were friendly, I would not say they were the most attentive. I am only saying this as for the price you pay (it is reassuringly expensive, if you see what I mean) I would have expected a bit more, but to many others it would possibly be acceptable. It was not concerning enough to complain, but I guess maybe we just went under the radar a bit. So an 'excellent' review, with just a bit of hopefully constructive feedback about the service. Definitely will go again though, the food is great.

Super friendly staff who were very attentive from start to finish. We selected choices from their Saturday afternoon tapas menu & can say this was delicious. Great selections on their menu. The decor promotes the cosy/warm restaurant environment along with a super atmosphere. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back for their Sunday roasts, sometime soon.

I’ve visited Podshavers for Sunday lunch and a Saturday brunch. Both times the service and front of house was first class - polite, friendly, professional, knowledgeable. a little off the main road but a lovely furnished and finished restaurant and courtyard. A great selection of drinks including cocktails. The food was another level… delicious and filling Sunday lunch on Mothering Sunday. So many flavours. The best Sunday lunch I’ve eaten in a restaurant. A lonely range of options for a Saturday brunch, chefs adapted an option for a vegetarian in the party, again we all thought the food was delicious. You can tell the chefs enjoy creating superb and beautiful dishes with passion, great presentation and taste. Keep up the amazing service… can’t wait to come again.
