Terrible Customer service. A large party of us stayed at the Premier Inn next door. At check in, around 6pm I asked the lady on reception to book us a table. Her response was 'I will try, but don't think you will get in'. She told me they were very busy. When I told her some of our party had booked a meal deal, she told me it wasn't guaranteed if you didn't also book a table in advance! Eventually she said we could have 3 tables at 8pm. Some of our party were yet to arrive, so after going over to the Beefeater I asked a waitress if it was possible for the 3 tables I had booked to be close together. She looked blank and went to get the manager. He shook his head, the place was half empty, but he kept telling me how busy it was ! Just before 8pm the place emptied, apart from our 3 tables, so we did manage to sit near each other. The food was not cheap, mediocre quality and the service indifferent. After the meal we moved to the bar area, very rude staff told us as soon as last orders was called, to 'get out now' and came round trying to collect drinks that were not finished. The breakfast the next day was even worse. We were 'served' by the rudest man ever, he was behind the hot buffet bar, slamming plates and bowls down, and I pushed him over the edge by asking for mushrooms. He snapped at me 'you'll have to wait 10 minutes, its too busy in here'. After 15 minutes he slammed down a plastic jug, of mushrooms clearly been microwaved. All in all, a horrible experience, rude and disorganised staff, who complained about being busy in a half empty place Shockingly bad

Went here for late lunch after work. I had fish, peas and chips hubby had gammon, egg, peas and chips, apple and custard it was all cook perfect the waitress were friendly. Mon-Fri between 12-5pm two main meals for £12.99 and the pudding was only £2.99 bargain. Thanks will go back

Had breakfast here with friends which was fine unless you want toast! We were then out for the day and ate else where but decided to return early(10pm) so we could have drinks before we went back to our hotel(Premier inn). BUT after getting some seats we were told the bar was closed and as they had already cleaned up they wouldnt serve any more drinks! Obviously this establishment is making an enormous profit, being able to clear up and close the bar by 10pm, despite the advertised christmas hours showing they close at 11pm.

Huge disappointment for Christmas Eve meal the place is badly managed, understaffed, disgusting toilets, food barely edible and atmosphere horrible would suggest you don’t bother. In Taunton there are plenty of other places in the area we wish we had read

What was a planned family Christmas meal, turned out to be made to feel guilty for being there and rushed. We were reluctantly given coffee at the end of the meal which was in the planned meal and not even offered the mince pies! On leaving manager moaned about having to clean up now before he can leave! Your choice to provide Christmas Day service! But we won’t be coming again…our waitress was great.

The restaurant was only about half full and had plenty of waiting staff. However, service was so slow. We waited 35 mins for 2 starters, then 40 mins for our main course. When the turkey roast came, the veg was hard, the parsnips were so burnt they were in-edible, and the stuffing was over cooked and dry. The waitress said she’d tell the Manager, who never actually came to see us. They offered no compensation. The waitress herself was really nice but we will not be back.

Visited with Family for a Christmas meal, won't be visiting again! The whole place had a bit of a sorry air about it, all a bit shabby and dirty in need of a good clean and some tlc. The toilets were especially grubby which makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. The food was just edible but I don't know how they made the veg so tasteless and take on the texture they had, not nice.

Had a nice plateful of fish and chips with peas. Very tasty. Nice comfortable Beefeater Inn with good layout with alcoves and partitions here and there. Service was friendly and very attentive. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely lunch here. The food was very good and the service provided by our server Kate was excellent throughout. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

A bit run down and dowdy. Food tastes good but very small portions. Why skimp on the chips when they are so cheap?

Got a 33% voucher off so thought we'd try it as not somewhere we would normally consider. As others have said its very tired and in need of a good clean. Arrived, got seated with a 'I'll be back to take your drinks order' 10mins later I went to the bar and got served. I think we'd still be waiting if I hadn't gone up to the bar. Sunday roasts are off the menu, as have been replaced by Festive menu from 9Nov. Beware if you have a 33% voucher this is not valid which was very disappointing when it came to pay as having told the guy who booked us in who confirmed it was applicable to all food. Server at paypoint gave a half heated apology but as its a chain, nothing she could do blah blah. Rather than the roast we went for the Festive lunch, not very Christmassy. Roast potatoes - old, smashed and grey. Pre cooked bought in Turkey served straight from the chiller. Cheap stuffing ball, frozen foodservice veg, (carrots, peas and sprouts) zero seasoning. Luckily we both hate parsnips so didnt taste but sad and limp looking. Barely worth £13.82 and absolutely not worth £20.95 as was akin to a frozen roast dinner meal you get from Iceland. Prawn and Smoked Salmon starter was OK as was the sundae. Suffice to say, it will remain off the list never to be visited again. Enjoy!

It took 50 minutes to get drinks and nobody had a clue about it nobody told us the roast dinners were not available therefore did not get what we wanted or expected would not recommend this place coming in a busy time because we have been here before when it was really quiet and it was incredibly good service and very understaffed and got left and forgotten about even though they walked past about 100 times would not recommend in the slightest 0/10 ?????
