Went here for a meal with family, booked a table in advance because there was a few of us, booking system worked very well, there is a full menu, the food was very good as was the attentive service, prices not to scarey either and as a bonus, dog friendly in the bar area Would recommend this place ?

We booked to eat at the Pen Mill on Sunday, originally it was going to be for 7 people but unfortunately due to illness, this was reduced to 4. They were quite accommodating but we were somewhat surprised that they said they needed us to vacate the table by 1:30pm so were only allotted 1½ hours. Most people had the carvery, 2 of our number did say the beef was a bit chewy and the roast potatoes were hard. I had ordered the smoked chicken stack, which was nice, the chips were delicious although there was a slight tinge of pink in the chicken breast, something I wouldn't normally expect. I don't like to complain at the time, but I like to be honest. Overall I would say that the experience was okay, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Went with family for a evning meal. The staff there are polite and attentive. A nice bright restaurant. Are orders came fairly quickly. The staff made sure to double check with one of our party since her dishes were vegan and gluten free. A good location on the main road with plenty of parking snd us also wheelchair accessible. Would go again.Food & drinks: They have a good selection of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan dishes. Ordered the rack of ribs for main an the red cherry crumble with custard for pudding. Both dishes were excellent, just a bit to much bbq sauce.

Most disgusting food I've had in a long while. Chicken wings were burnt and far too salty so couldn't even eat the six on the plate. Ate two. The burger had no seasoning at all and we had to ask for the chips to be cooked more as they were soggy. Service was excellent but food terrible and way over priced.

What a lovely meal we had, your sunday carvery is always great, my 6 year old daughter loves coming for a roast dinner her favourite is the turkey! Your staff are always accommodating and welcoming and never without a smile, which makes all the difference.

Lovely place to eat . Very pleasant helpful staff. Food was good only real complaint was the portion size for my husband was very small almost felt like they were trying to stretch the special so as not to run out.

Excellent food and service. Great for dogs in the bar area. Consistently fantastic!

The area we were sitting is quite dull and feels like you're in the serving thoroughfare. Small vegan portions. Servers forgot about us after main course so didn't bother with a dessert. Not impressed.

Always a great venue to eat. Food is gorgeous, staff are wonderful and very attentive. One thing that does spoil it a little is the price of drinks. The atmosphere last night was a little disturbing with a few guys sat at the bar talking and swearing loudly. We just don't expect this at Pen Mill, it's more conducive to a pub on a lads night out.
