Beautiful venue, great location, lovely views, service good. The food is overpriced for a conventional menu, it is executed well but essentially for a wrap with a side of chips its 20 quid which I think is a little punchy even for the setting.

The Trough is a gem within the Yeovil area. Not easily stumbled upon, but we're glad we did. Excellent food, superb views, very good service.

My “go to” place. The services are great, and staff very friendly. There’s plenty of space inside and outside - lots of fresh air too, the environment is lovely. They provide blankets if you want to sit outside.

The Trough is a beautiful looking restaurant with unmatched views all around!Unfortunately the food didn’t match up to the reputation for my family and I.We all ordered the aged beef with Sunday trimmings. The veg was cooked lovely but the meat came out extremely raw, even though we weren’t asked how we wanted it cooked, and one member of my family’s food was so under cooked the staff even took it off the bill (after previously saying it couldn’t be done. Maybe they noticed how under cooked it really was?).Dessert on the other hand was amazing and definitely worth mentioning. I would 100% recommended trying them as they all looked great and tasted even better. As for service, we weren’t offered any water for the table, even though everyone else had a bottle on the tables around us. When we were brought dessert, which as I mentioned was great, we weren’t given any spoons to eat it with. That being said all the staff were friendly and welcoming and were working hard.Overall I just expected more. Everything from the restaurant’s reputation, to how it looked just didn’t match up to the food we had.I’ve had better for less, and I think that’s a real shame.Parking: Plenty of parking outside the restaurant. No need to worry about finding a place.

I booked afternoon tea here as a Christmas present for a friend and it was amazing. The portions were great, we could change the drink or upgrade to Prosecco if we wanted but we had hot chocolates. Food was really tasty, the brownie was my favourite. The service was brilliant as always and I think it’s a really reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Awful food and as for the service well!!!!!!!!! This is our 2nd time visiting and what a disappointment we knew it was overpriced for what is actually on the menu but to serve food like that which I have to say is only toasted sandwiches, pizza , burgers etc is diabolical and you know is gonna cost a bomb ,just for my husband and myself over £50 . The Waiter completely messed up the all ready shocking food order then proceeded to smirk as my friend made it clear that this isn't acceptable which is dreadfully rude!!! as the bill would have been over £150 for which basically any other restaurant could pull off with ease ... A deadful dinning experience by all throughout and we will never return EVER !!!!

Excellent breakfast this morning, we were very well looked after and the coffee is great too. Will definitely visit again, worth a trip out if you are anywhere near Yeovil.
