This visit was not my first time dining at DN1 and certainly won’t be my last. It’s wonderful to finally have a fine dining option in Doncaster, I’m used to having to travel for this level of quality. Being closer to home allowed me and my friend to fully relax and enjoy the taster menu, which allowed us to take our time and embraced the experience without feeling rushed. We sat at the chefs table, which made it personal, having each dish presented and explained in detail by the chef. Each dish was clearly made with the finest ingredients and all of the courses were fantastic, making it difficult to choose a favourite. I highly recommend DN1 and look forward to my next visit. ? Lunch Delicatessen & Dining Room by The Gentleman Fishmonger Tasting menu. Where's the first place you think of for fine dining,chefs, bench, excellent food, and service? Doncaster? Surely not? We've been following the progress of this restaurant and chefs since its conception. It's located inside of Yorkshires' finest deli. You can choose to dine in their cosy restaurant by the windows or on the chefs bench. Menu options are 3 courses £39, 5 course £64 or the full tasting menu £89,which we chose obviously. On arrival, you are greeted by the very curtious Tom Lister, who is front of house. We were seated at the chefs on the bench on very comfy stools,which is like having front row seats to your favourite show. There's no forgetting who the head chef is Marcus_ashton_simpson , he's got his name up in lights at the entrance. How many young chefs have got that? Who is assisted by rising star Oska Ready. Once Tom has plied you with some very nice wine,the show begins with a couple of very tasty snacks. The menu is predominantly fish, which is all supplied by their very own The Gentleman Fishmonger Tuna - blackberry - anchovy Mackerel - sweetcorn - clam Bread course Crab - Chilli - Sausage Scallop - Thai red - Tomato COD served three ways. There is an optional cheese course,but as it's lunchtime, we didn't want to overdo it. They have got a cheese counter in the deli so you can always take a selection to enjoy at home. Pre- dessert Raspberry-Whisky-Oats Dessert Yoghurt - Honey - Lemon. We could not possibly pick a favourite dish,but if you twisted our arm, it would have to be the Crab. It's got to be the tastiest and most moorish Crab dish we've ever served to us. Everything about this venue is a food lovers paradise. The staff are all friendly and offer the best customer service and make you feel so welcome. So get yourselves to Donny for some incredible, creative food before the guides and Jay Rayner catch on.

Sublime imaginative food made with the finest ingredients coupled with the best service and an ever improving ambiance made for a truly wonderful evening. Doncaster, you are very very spoilt !!! No ego no drama all about the taste & style ? Book us in again please. We don’t need to see menus anymore we trust you to serve us the best meal ever ???

It really is just an exceptional dining experience!! It’s fine dining at its best. An absolutely great atmosphere and the interaction of the chefs is amazing to see - no shouting/swearing they just work together with the more experienced chefs explaining to the younger less experienced chefs. It’s just fantastic to see!!! The food has always been exceptional to the point where we’ve invited friends to join us and they felt exactly the same. If you want exclusive fine dining and in a friendly environment you just need to book and see for yourself!! ** if you’re vegetarian, let them know and they’ll adapt the menu to suit, one of our party was vegetarian and absolutely loved the food too** Do you like wine? Add the wine tasting!!

Everything cooked to perfection and beautifully presented on gorgeous crockery. Superb craftsmanship with the food and minute attention to detail results in layers of flavour, often complex and beautifully balanced. The passion to excel by this team is clear. The friendly and helpful sommelier suggested the wine pairing to ensure every dish of this incredible tasting menu had the perfect accompaniment. The care and attention taken by the chef and his team made every course a delight to look forward to. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable and welcoming. Service is attentive without being overwhelming and our party of four had an experience that totally exceeded our high expectations. We were fortunate to experience dining here twice in a month. . . The first time we had the 8 course menu to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and today we had the 3 course lunch with a friend. Both were memorable experiences: the food is outstanding - beautiful flavour combinations, perfectly presented by enthusiastic and friendly young chefs, and hosted by Tom (front of house) whose knowledge and personality completes the experience. We are very lucky to have such a high quality dining experience in Doncaster and highly recommend it!

We spent a most enjoyable afternoon at DN1 on 20th August celebrating our Son’s Silver Wedding Anniversary. The venue and the seafood were superb and Tom couldn’t have been more helpful. The whole experience was exceptional.
Given this experience as an anniversary gift from our children. What a gift! The food was exemplary. I urge anyone who likes good food; save your money on your weekly casual eating out and visit DN1, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for a wonderful evening at DN1 Delicatessen and Dining. The tasting course menu was delicious, with gorgeous fresh ingredients and tasty combinations. Some of our favourites were the scallop served on a tomato reduction and the tuna four ways, which were cooked to perfection. We loved Chef Marcus and Adam explaining the different courses, with Sarah suggesting the most complementary wines. We’d highly recommend this little gem in Doncaster!

The most unreal food I have ever tasted, not only did it taste amazing, it looked absolutely fabulous with the creative designs the talented chefs had come up with!
