I’m so guilty of forgetting to leave reviews … if I could go back and leave a review for every time we have dined here there would be pages and pages… and I can honestly say we have never had a bad experience! Yesterday was no exception. We had booked a booth for 5 of us at tea time. Greeted promptly by the friendly waitress and to the table we had requested online when booking. Other than my son who had carvery we all ordered off the main menu and everyone enjoyed their meal.. the pizza’s here are particularly good! Freshly baked and always cooked to perfection! My son thoroughly enjoyed his carvery and although they were pretty busy the food came in a decent time! Bottle of Prosecco for 9.95 on Friday and Saturday night…. Can’t go wrong! Staff are always friendly. Even the young ones are always keeping busy and with a smile. The gentleman who took our order at the till yesterday was really helpful and friendly too. It’s decent food for a decent price. The poor reviews really surprise me… we have either been exceptionally lucky , or the expectations of some are incredibly high. If your looking for a la carte then your in the wrong place, but if your looking for a decent meal at a decent price in a clean environment and with welcoming staff, then it’s definitely worth giving the green tree a try!

Went last week 5th sept everything was lovely, beef tender gammon gorgeous potatoes and everything else great, went today 12th sept beef was tough like leather, very salty and burnt roast potoes, cauliflower was hard, yorkshire puddings dryed out, the carver looked miserable made us feel uncomfortable overall very disappointed after last week expected the same. The women waitresses very nice couldn't do enough and cleaning was great as soon as someone left plates cleared and tables cleaned and reset with cutlery. Great shame.

We have been visiting the Green Tree most of the time we have lived in the area so for almost 35 years, under many different managers & group owners, it has been brilliant to mediocre in that time, and this was our first visit since the start of the COVID pandemic. What can we say, the place is back to it's best, smart décor, well laid out with a one way in one way out setup & no longer a scramble for a table. We were seated quickly & the carvery was excellent, plenty of veg choices, all perfectly cooked & three beautiful pieces of meat to choose from, the best being a rib of beef glazed with dripping. An altogether pleasant experience, now a favourite among the carvery offerings in the area

Rubbish service and no staff, then get to carvery and no real choice and finally back at the table that hasn’t been cleaned! Might as well have gone home and cooked.

Called at Green Tree at 1.45 pm bank holliday monday . Member of staff just pointed to a table. was told there would be a 40 minutes wait for meals except carvery . no problem we ordered 3 carvery and 2 meals. it was 90 minutes before meals arrived so we went to get the carvery and the veg was almost empty , we were told to go sit down for 5 minutes . 15 minutes later we went back all fresh veg but roast potatoes were hard , stuffing was underdone , and chef serving seemed really stressed out. The 2 meals 1 had the wrong sauce on it the other dried up . All in all a poor effort. Hence we wont be back .

Started to go here again to see how it is and it’s definitely got better. Pizza is amazing and carvery has improved. Cheaper than a lot of places around here too so that’s a bonus.

One of the females who I believed to be called BEX was very rude. I ordered on the App but my choice wasn’t available. I made her aware of this before hand but she still made the incorrect drink and just said “we make what it says” not in a polite manner. Her attitude was very poor and she was clearly making fun of me with one of her colleagues while throwing me dirty looks which I felt was particularly uncalled for.

I pass this way every few weeks so always make a beeline to the Greentree. I keep looking through the menu as it all sounds good and I saw the pizzas coming out and they looked really nice but in the end I stuck with my favourite the carvery mmmmm ? always good, I eat way too much but it's just so tempting. Give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Absolutely disgusting. If I could give it a zero I would, gave me undercooked chicken which at first was no problem as I asked for a replacement meal to then have the chef say the meal would be the same quality again if I had the chicken burger. Not meaning to be horrible but how can you say you’ll undercook the chicken again? To also get the pizza order wrong and send cold chips with it was embarrassing. Avoid like the plague. Never again.
We've never had a bad meal over the number of years we've been eating at the establishment. Beef was so tender and the turkey really tasty. Chef Pete was properly attentive.

When we arrived, we were greeted and shown to our table by cheerful member of management, we opted for the carvery which had several of Joints of meet, we had the Turkey which was beautiful presented with vast selection of vegetables, all in all it was a decent lunch and value for money

Absolutely disgusted today, I took my daughter and 2 one year olds for breakfast and apon arrival was greeted by the most rude arrogant server eve (black pony) when I asked if we could sit on a preferred side of the restaurant she snapped my head off saying the table wasn't clean so no ! I then offered to clean it and im not aloud an she didn't want too, so was excorted to a table on the other side that I struggle to fit my legs under as I'm tall, she then threw two high chairs towards the table and barked the we go bar to order! Then preceeded to walk by the table with dirty dishes clashing plates and keys so we left !! I have been a regular customer for over 15 year and never been spoken to like this by any server .... she is definitely in the wrong job , never once have I left a restaurant before even eating due to the attitude of staff , Green tree should be ashamed to have employees like her.

Absolutely disgusting came here for Father’s Day qued 20 mins for a drink one person serving the carvery was horrible frozen veg and to say was 11.49 there was hardly any veg compared to in the week when it’s cheaper disappointed wasted 79 pounds won’t be returning not worth the money

Absolutely dreadful food and service. Not vegan-friendly in the slightest, despite offering vegan options, and my daughter's vegan burger came with bacon and dairy cheese, which I am sure was deliberate! - appalling - and only after I'd finished eating my well-below average vegan offering. The 'chef' was beyond ignorant too. Never again, thank you!
