Situated in the Frenchgate shopping centre, this seems to be quite a small Waterstones compared to many, but it is very well laid out and very attractive. There really is something for everyone in this Waterstones with a huge range of books for all ages and interests, together with jigsaws, puzzles and toys etcIt is well staffed so plenty of help and advice if needed.It has a huge, light and airy cafe on the first floor and I believe that the toilets are also on this floor.I visited on a Friday lunchtime and it was good to see the store busy with customers of all ages and the cafe was busy too.I had a very good cup of tea whilst I did a bit of people watching.Waterstones always offers a quality experience and would be my first choice for book buying.

Had a quick trip and sampled a cheese & caramelised onion toasties. Absolutely delicious. Made a nice change for both sides of the bread to be toasted.Had a lovely pot of yorkshire tea with a jam & cream scone. Lovely and very fresh. Was such a pleasant experience. Definitely be visiting again.

Friendly staff and great service with a smile. Good choice of drinks. Whether it's a tea, herbal tea, or various coffees, toast, teacakes or sandwiches etc..... All lovely and my favourite place to go. Good atmosphere, toilets and access by stairs or lift. Also join the club and earn points, it's worth it and goes towards a good book.
