I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but I decided to check out the ratings for this store after being a regular for the last four months or so.I thought it might just be me, but it seems a lot of people have pointed out similar issues that take place every single time i'm being served.The coffee is decent, yet the service at times can be stand offish, boarding on rude (without describing certain individuals).No smiles (not that that’s to be expected), no hello, no rapport or anything that keeps customers coming back (I have a discount hence my return visits).The staff barely say a thing to each other, let alone the customers. They all look like they’ve had to put down multiple dogs before their morning shifts, and clearly do not want to be there to the point where it’s glaringly obvious.I really do wonder what is going on behind the scenes.Apart from the lady with black hair and glasses, she’s ‘the friendly one’.

Surprisly, there is a place with a secret code to use the toilets, I think there is a tax to use it for this reason they minimise the toilet usage with a secret code

Utterly Disgraceful And A Stain On The Name Of Caffè Nero. I have been to many Caffè Nero branches across the UK (and all of them are far superior to this one). I have noted (along with other customers) that even if you are a regular customer here this will not be valued in the least by certain perpetually miserable members of staff who 'work' in this place. For example, the ginger-haired female 'Barista' who works here is consistently rude, arrogant, ill mannered, unprofessional and miserable with a constant frown and scowl on their face. This 'Barista' has displayed appallingly bad customer service skills on numerous occasions. It would seem that this 'Barista' clearly does not enjoy working at Caffè Nero judging by the perpetually miserable expression on their face and their very rude and unprofessional demeanour. Any normal human being with even the most basic level of level of intelligence, would understand that regular customers should be valued and treated with courtesy and respect. Judging by the appalling attitude and disgraceful demeanour of this idiotic 'Barista', I can only conclude that this individual lacks basic intelligence. In addition to the awful customer service provided by some of the staff here, there are constant maintenance issues with this place e.g. toilets being unavailable, water leaking thorough the ceiling, lack of seating etc.Avoid this place as there are many far superior Cafés in Sheffield City Centre (including other branches of Caffè Nero).

I come to this caffe nero regularly and the staff are always really welcoming and friendly. I enjoy the atmosphere and its a great place to sit and work. I would recommend the luxury caramelatte ?

Stopped here around 12 months ago as I was in the vicinity on business, was not the slightest impressed with the service or the rude staff. Reluctantly I made a return visit this month as I was back on business, wow! What a turn around! The cleanliness, friendliness and attention to customers has vastly improved! I chose a Honey oat latte, served by a very patient little lady (curly hair and glasses) who had just defused an altercation with an abusive customer. She apologised for the delay and served me promptly and with a smile. Tables were cleaned immediately and each customer was greeted with a pleasantry and on leaving the same. It was quite busy during my visit but everyone was served and attended too promptly. Would I return? Of course.

By far the worst staff I've ever encountered, say good morning and no response ever ,its funny how rude they are ,1 member of staff from Lithuania I think is normal polite etc ,,seriously go in try it ,if it's open ,numerous times it doesn't open on time ,bo apology nothing ,,,great coffee utter garbage staff ,,and I mean trash void of character or manners ...

Decidedly average. Needs some tlc and a bit of a clean. Dirty pots left on tables. Only one member of staff serving so quite a wait for service.Atmosphere a little flat and cool.Overall very average.

So had a meeting I needed to log onto, saw a Cafe Nero, thought that would be ideal.But the customer service you kind of expect from a coffee shop just wasn't there, it was too blunt, not warm, made customers feel embarrassed. I tried to pay by contactless, it obviously didn't go through properly, so as I was setting up my laptop, she called me back to put my card in. Absolutely fine to do, it just felt accusatory, but hey I haven't paid properly so fair enough even if it was a mistake. As it happened an elderly disabled couple were sat near me, the barista brought over a drink, the woman said they ordered two fumbling with a receipt, the husband in the loo who probably ordered, the barista was sharp with her too saying that only one was ordered and the receipt was for elsewhere. When the husband came back it was cleared up, and another drink was ordered. The women then got up on crutches to pay for the drink, despite her husband telling her to sit down it's ok, but she said she wanted to pay herself. Looked a touch upset, they had a private discussion about the encounter that I won't recount and they both left very quickly.The barista was correct both times about payment, but I just felt like a different approach could of been taken, and with a better attitude towards service. No harm was meant by the customers. Similar reviews also showing rudeness, and by description it's the same person.And to top it off alas the drink was super bitter because I'm an idiot who didn't know what a machiato was like and wanted to try and the cafe was too loud with the machines and work outside to contribute to my call ?? so probably pop elsewhere next time.
