“I recently had one of the most memorable pub experiences I can recall, thanks to a little gem that knows exactly how to look after its guests—two-legged and four-legged alike. The highlight was undoubtedly the pie, sourced from Crawshaws the butchers. It was, without exaggeration, the best pie I’ve ever eaten: perfectly baked, hearty, and brimming with meat and flavour. The landlord made the occasion even more special by teasing us “softy southerners” into trying Henderson’s northern sauce, along with a refreshing touch of mint for the mushy peas—a quirky but brilliant combination that worked beautifully. The beer selection was equally impressive, with fabulous real ales kept in excellent condition, each pint poured with care. What really stood out, though, was the warm welcome for our dogs. They were treated to a meat bowl feast fit for kings, making it a true family-friendly stop. A wonderful pub through and through! As you can see from my photo, this is how we rated the food. There's no point in sharing the before picture; it is how you finish your meal that counts.”

Staff are wonderful too by the way and can't do enough for you, and kudos obvs to the chef, because without their efforts in making those glorious, mouth watering, fit-for-the-King pies, I probably wouldn't be leaving this review.”

“We’ve recently hosted a baby shower party at the wonderful Blue Ball. Emma and Carl are fantastic first class attentive accommodating hosts who made everything smooth sailing from booking to the clear up at finish. The food was great, I’d definitely rate 5 star quality, especially the beef sandwiches! Such a lovely warm atmosphere throughout the whole of the pub. We will definitely be booking again for a party venue! Thanks so much for a perfect day!”
