I have visited this chippy on a number of times and have never been disappointed. They keep the traditional way cooking chips that make them taste like a chip, their curry sauce is also lovely and I have had a number of pies again never disappointed. The only small criticism would be the staff never really smile or have any small conversation with customers and with this being a local business for many years you think it would have a nice atmosphere. This aside I will still be frequenting here as the food is certainly worth going back for, so if you do fancy some traditional chippy food give it a try.

This is a local fish shop I have visited numerous times and have never been disappointed. It does look a bit dated but the chips are always hot and have the traditional taste to what a great chip tastes like. The curry sauce is lovely I have also tried the pies which have always been great. The let down I would say is that there is never really a friendly welcome or any small conversation from the staff considering it’s been in the village for a considerable time, however if it’s traditional tasty chippy food you fancy it’s certainly worth a try also supporting a local rather than franchised business.

Best fish slice in breadcake. Chips 100% in beef dripping. Chips covered in salt and vinger boom. Cafe in back that serves more chips, yes the lady can be rude but honest

Lovely fish and chips, cooked in beef dripping just the way they should, counter service or sit in cafe, friendly owners. Park in tesco car park for free and it's a 2 min walk. We'll worth it.

Traditional 1970s/80s themed fish and chips shop. Step back in time and sample authentic British takeaway food as it was served before modern technology arrived. Chips were ok but mince and onion pie wasn’t the best. Chicken nuggets were odd - so much so I lost a battered sausage amongst them. Fish was a little greasy. Would recommend improved batter management but in terms of capturing that traditional experience - this is spot on.

Nipped here for a quick and easy dinner before going out for a few beers. Thought the fish and chips were very reasonable in price and I really enjoyed the Yorkshire fish cake!

Called at teatime today, fish slice and sausage refried from lunch yuk. Fish slice was nearly black in colour after a second refry. Chips greasy and inedible, fat should have been changed…last year! Offered the dog most of them but she wasn’t keen either. It’s like visiting something stuck in time. Place is filthy. Avoid as there are other chippies in the town.
