We booked a party of 20 in for afternoon tea, in celebration of a 70th birthday. We were given our own private area without asking. The afternoon tea was plentiful and delicious. The staff were very attentive. We couldn't have wished for a more positive experience. It was fabulous!

Been here a few times for coffee always a nice coffee .. so went for lunch and was very disappointed … whilst ordering the food the girl who’s served me I don’t think she had a smile on her. The food was quite honestly tasteless and service average. Definitely wasn’t worth the money I paid. Can’t deny the portions are huge but I’d rather have a small plate of tasty food served with a smile I like to support local businesses but won’t be going again unfortunately….

Very disappointed with our meal. For the price the food was very average. I was expecting something a bit more special. The staff were very polite but we had to ask 4 times for a jug of water before it arrived over an hour later. The music was so loud we had to keep asking for it to be turned down as we couldn't hear ourselves speaking. The bar was crammed full making it difficult to speak to staff. Where ever you stood in the bar, you were in the way all the time. Overall not a great experience. Had much nicer meals elsewhere and paid a lot less.

Good food. Good

Good food cooked as I asked it. Great coffee. Nice old school buildings. But no windows upstairs to see out off, so lacking a little in atmosphere, just blank walls to look at.

Had a lovely lunch here - food was great, good portion, and service was quick. Although it didn't apply to us today, it's cycle and dog friendly! Lovely walk round Dam Flask after to try and work off some calories.

Went with 2 others for lunch. The others lunches came and mine was at least 10 minutes afer. The prices are extremely high considering you have to find your table yourself and step up to counter to order food. I expect waitress service at these prices. I had the fish which tasted strange, think it was a cheap fish, definitely not cod and more batter than fish. Don’t think I’ll be going back.

I went for the afternoon tea with some girlfriends and it was so lovely. The atmosphere was very relaxed, the service was lovely, all the staff are very smiley and friendly. Beautiful cake selection. Just a lovely afternoon.

Love going here and now they've started doing Sunday roasts, which I had today and was superb! You have to book ahead as its so busy.

First off the place is lovely. We just had coffee and cakes, both of which were lovely. We turned up on a Sunday morning and just managed to get a table for 2. Staff recommended booking next time, however...The booking system was just chaos, there are little notes on tables giving a name and time they are reserved. So you just have to wonder around trying to find your reserved table, if someone has booked around the same time and has the same name as you, well best of luck. First one there wins.We sat downstairs and although entertaining watching people fight it out for tables. It did make a Sunday morning coffee extremely chaotic. So if your going book in advance may the god's of chaos and mayhem be on your side.Wheelchair accessibility: Place has a ramp outside but no way to access 1st floor. It is an old building though.

5 stars isn't even enough for how good this place is . The staff was brilliant the food amazing and a good price too. The building and decor are very well done and it's probably one of the nicest places I've been. Will definitely be going back.
