Attended as a group for daughters 30th. Outstanding service, although was set menu staff were extremely accommodating and did everything to make sure we got what we wanted lovely atmosphere. Have been going to the tearooms for number of years and can honestly say it is if not the best for delicious food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The kids afternoon tea was fantastic and super cute. All in all a memorable day for my daughter. Thank you to all the helpful staff at Whitmore tea rooms.

My wife and I took our daughter for afternoon tea on a Saturday afternoon as a treat. We had been there before for lunch, so we wanted to see what it was like. When we arrived it was very busy and quite a lively atmosphere. The first table was on the top floor and we spotted a table on the lower floor and we asked to be moved. This was done without fuss and it was much quieter. We went for the pink prosecco option. The service was excellent throughout and the ladies were extremely attentive and helpful. As far as the food was concerned, the scones were deliciously moist and warm; the sandwiches were fresh and tasty and the coffee cake was to die for. Plenty of choice for everyone. We all had two lots of drinks and we could have had more food but we were absolutely full.Overall a superb experience - just be mindful that Saturday afternoon is very popular so hence very busy. Carpark was rammed so get there early!Make sure you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.Lastly there are currently significant hold ups (as at 02/03) with roadworks down the road so suggest you allow more time to get there. They will be gone in 2 months (April I think)

Fabulous. We had no reservations but explained we came a long way to come here and they accommodated us. Super nice as they were fully booked.

The food quality is noticeably reduced from my last visit. The beef & turkey was processed rubbery ‘meat’ you get from cheap supermarkets - very disappointing. We got one small jam pot between two people which was ridiculous. Won’t be going again.

Had a lovely time at Whitmore Tea Rooms with my friends. Such a genuine place with lots of teas and food to choose from. We tried their oatcakes which were great, as well as the sponge cake. Definitely coming back for the afternoon tea ?

Visited with family for afternoon tea, celebrating a 60th birthday…very disappointed. For £21.95 each we got 1 piece of cake a small scone 4 small sandwich triangles and pot of tea which was supposed to be topped up, which I didn’t know about until after we’d paid. Looked at the menu after we’d visited it would’ve been £10 each cheaper if we’d ordered sandwich cake and tea. Compared to another venue we attended a few weeks later it for afternoon tea it was poor. At the other venue where we had 4 beautiful cakes each 1 1/2 large scone each and extra sandwiches which we were told we could have on our arrival plus top up tea which we were told about on our arrival too. We asked for boxes to take the cakes we couldn’t eat home. When the waitress bought the boxes they also contained a cup cake. Much better value for money, it was a proper afternoon tea served by very attentive staff. The tables were dressed immaculatey the crockery was lovely too unlike whitmore where the cups and saucer are china but the tea is put in gaudy heavy earthenware teapots. I would rather pay £4 more and go back to the 2nd venue we went a few weeks later. We felt we had something special xx
