What an absolute find!!!!!! I really can't believe this place is only a few miles away, I've probably driven past it 100 times and I had no idea it was there.Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and fabulous food!I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be back.

Came here today at 3pm with my partner and dogs for a quick coffee before a walk. On arrival we were asked by one of the staff if we'd booked, I said no. We were then told that unfortunately they can't serve us food. We were then told they could do coffee and cakes. I said we only wanted coffee. She then said let me check if there is a seat available, there were a few empty tables inside and out, the place was closing in an hour at 4. She then said have a seat and she'll bring the coffee menus over, at which point I said just a latte and a cappuccino please. This type of customer service is really poor, drawn out, and doesn't make the customer feel good! She didn't even ask us what we wanted before she was already telling us "no can do". It's like I'm having to navigate my way through her negativity to persuade her to make me a coffee! Like 2 coffees is a big deal at a coffee shop! I know it's busy and working in hospitality can be challenging but come on. Instead of focusing on what you CAN'T DO try asking "how can I help you? Two coffees oh right, you CAN sit here etc" then IF we'd asked for food, she could say unfortunately it's bookings only, kitchen closed etc. This type of poor service is all too common in Britain and stems from poor communication skills and a poor attitude. Focus on the positives and what you can do for the customer instead of immediately reeling off no can do, computer says no! Keep the interaction positive and the customer will feel positive. I was happy with the coffee but not with the drawn out, fussy and negative way I had to order it. It's a coffee shop, ordering a coffee should be simple, smooth and without a fuss. It really annoys me when I go somewhere and it's like they're doing me a favour and making a big deal out of delivering the most basic function of that place, i.e a coffee at a coffee shop, or a pint at a pub, a pizza at a pizzeria, these are the most basic transactions!

Finally got a booking here for breakfast. Visited twice before and been turned away, but we preserved and booked ahead.Service was friendly and attentive.I ordered a small breakfast with a latte, and my partner had a large breakfast, the only difference being it contained black pudding, half a tomato, and toast. The quality of the food was very good, but it is at the high end price wise at £10 for the small and £14 for the large. The other thing that lets this place down for us is allowing dogs into the entire inside dining room and not having a dedicated section. Not everyone likes to eat surrounded by animals.Nice as a one-off, but due to having to book in advance, and being too dog friendly I would probably go elsewhere.

When we want to treat ourselves to a breakfast 'out' we tend to choose Whites, food is really good, service too. Currently wouldn't choose anywhere else

Perfect lunch at Whites. The bistro is quirky, friendly, laid out well and just one hell of an experience. We were recommended to try here by a family member but had no idea what to expect. The staff are friendly, the guy running things is as good as it gets and although we didn't see the chef, the food is top notch. We had fish and chips which was presented perfectly on a wooden serving board. This consisted of 3 battered fish mini fillets cooked to perfection and acompanied by crushed minted peas and fresh chunky skin on chips with chunky tartar sauce. All I can say is wow. Tasted amazing looked amazing. I can't fault anything. I'd highly recommend the fish.Try here for lunch....try anything. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Lovely place with nice people but the prices of some main menu items now make more-frequent visits prohibitive. A good example of this is the Smoked Salmon breakfast bagel at £12 that way-exceeds its perceived value for what is essentially £3-4 of ingredients, if that. Such a shame and noticeable that in-week booking is no longer completely necessary as there have been plenty of seats available on walk-ins. Wonder if that’s connected to the pricing issue? Coffee and cake is a good option and reasonably priced.Parking: Slots available if you are patient.
