Slightly bemused by some of the amazing reviews here. We visited for date night. The restaurant itself is a typical hotel restaurant, ie no atmosphere whatsoever. Tables were crammed in next to the entrance door when there was space elsewhere in the restaurant not being used, or filled with tables containing service items. Service was just ok. We were served promptly, but we asked for a jug of water with our wine, which was forgotten. We also paid extra for pickles with our poppadoms and this was also forgotten. When we got the pickles, they were disappointing. One piece of onion and something large that had something very woody in the middle of it. Uneatable between 2 people, so we left them. The food itself was ok. Just ok, but nothing special. Definitely not "best ever" or "amazing". We started off with onion bhajis and samosas, followed by chicken tikka, and paneer tikka. We found the food lacking in flavour and depth (and we aren't lovers of food that's so spicy that it leaves your lips on fire). We have had far better Indian food elsewhere. The garlic naan didn't taste of garlic at all. Also, as this is essentially a hotel restaurant, the wine prices are very expensive. The cheapest wine on the menu was £21. So overall, just an average experience and one we wouldn't repeat. Certainly not best ever.

We tried this restaurant for the 1st time tonight and we were extremely disappointed. The service and food were awful, I can honestly say it’s the worst Indian Food I have ever tasted. Our complaint was taken by the management and they insulted us with 20% discount off the bill. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO THERE, AND WE DO RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

We went to Saffron last night for the first time and it was excellent. The food is the best I’ve had for a long time, top quality, freshly cooked. Not typical surroundings for an Indian restaurant but none the worse for that. We will be back.

Came here with my partner to dine a few weeks after enjoying a takeaway from here. All aspects such as flavour, presentation and authenticity were fantastic. If you want a real Indian food experience rather than your usual ‘curry house’ offering, then this place does not disappoint.

Absolutely amazing Indian restaurant!!! We had the prawn masala and the chicken methi with masala chips and garlic naan and it was cooked to perfection! Really fresh and high quality, authentic Indian food. I asked them to make mine hotter than the menu and they happily accommodated.Really lovely relaxed setting too, I couldn't recommend it more and I'm sad I don't love close enough to visit regularly or order take out!If we're ever in the area again I will 100% be visiting again!

Wow! Read some dodgy reviews before we went, but it was absolutely lovely the staff couldn't have been more attentive over everything, even asked about allergies. We had starters and main from the vegetarian non gluten sections and they were fantastic so full of flavour and so filling. The hotel is very pretty and great pictures of the area in years gone by. Will definitely go back and highly recommend. Only thing I would suggest is having some vegan options on menu, not having to ask for them

This is the best Indian food you will EVER have. This is proper Indian food with real spices and great taste. I have eaten here with my parents nearly every week and the food is always cooked to perfection.

We got into the restaurant and wasn’t welcomed by the man serving us. Thr silly waiter dropped the pints over us and wasn’t even in offered a discount and we was eating our food piss wet through and uncomfortable. We ordered starters and it was okay good tbf but yet again the customer service was shcoking. We ended up going to another restaurant after spending £48 for 3 pints snd 3 starters
