One of my better places to stay near Birmingham. It does have some downsides. The mattresses are thin. One room couldn't get wifi. The other got sporadic WiFi and there was a bright pub light outside so a lot of light came through the blinds on a night. Made me sleep horrible. The staff are friendly, rooms have a desk.Worth a stay definitely I stay here most weeks. The WiFi definitely needs a upgrade and maybe some better mattresses.

The location is out of the way so you can't hear traffic the room is clean and bed is comfy and the staff and super friendly only downside is the WiFi but that was because I was at the back and there's a weird mold smell about the room but you get used to it after

Great place to stay, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Small menu on offer with hot and cold food. The only issue is the lack of Internet/WiFi, but I understand this is not the fault of liberal house and intermittent Internet can be got on the top floor.Noteworthy details: Atmosphere and staff are superb.

First of I would like to say that the staff was lovely and friendly and very helpful. I don’t normally write reviews but feel that the owners need to know where they are going wrong. We went to our room and as soon as we opened the door the smell hit us all I can say is it smelt like my daughters hamster cage when it needs a clean. We had to go and buy an air freshener candle to try take the smell away, but when we went to bed we obviously blew the candle out and the smell just kept coming and we couldn’t wait to get up and leave in the morning. We went down for dinner in the evening and the food was nice, but it was extremely noisy because of the regulars that drink in there and they took all the tables up and also their kids on other tables with colouring books on where they had been in there most the day, we ended up eating outside in the cold because it was quite intimidating being inside, before we arrived we was going to have breakfast but in the end we just wanted to leave asap. The bedding was clean and so was the towels and the bathroom was also clean but we didn’t walk barefoot as the carpet because it felt horrible and the toilet rolls just balanced on the toilet as the holder had a bit missing, it’s just the little things I know but the smell turned us off

Me and my husband checked in for an early anniversary stay. Everything was superb. Upon checking in, our room was decorated with a few extras for our stay. Can not fault our hostess Laura! She is a lovely lady who couldn't stop us smiling! Will definitely stay again. Thank you so so much. Love Richard and Sean

Very nice place, nice friendly pub and nice clean rooms, quite modern (I think renovated a little while ago), had a good nights sleep, no noise and breakfast was very good, The manager is a lady called Laura and she is outstanding, very helpful and friendly, if we are back in that part of the world at some point then definitely would not hesitate to stay They had some entertainment on in the pub on the Saturday evening, sadly we had plans although we did get back and were treated to a rendition of one last song as they were packing up

Lovely staff and would do the job but it absolutely reeked of drains - could barely breathe for the smell

We booked a couple of rooms here fairly last minute as a pit stop on our way to see family friends. Reviews on booking.com were reasonable but we failed to look at recent Tripadvisor reviews.... We arrived early evening and the pub itself was reasonably busy. We were given a warm welcome (less of a warm welcome from the drunk chap propping up the bar, it was probably a good job he'd drunk enough to be incoherent) and pointed in the direction of our rooms. The previously mentioned drain smell was apparent as soon as we went through the door from the bar and headed down the corridor..... Our request for 2 rooms close together had been accommodated. The rooms were small and very basic but bed linens and towels clean and the bed comfortable. Our carpet had most definitely not been hoovered and the electric heater on the wall was coming away on the one side (photos attached). The room was cold when we entered but I took my life in my hands and turned the heater on. There's a little Tesco literally just a minute or two down the road which was super handy. There are no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room but you can help yourself to hot drinks from the pool room next to the bar, although the bar is obviously locked up overnight (as I discovered when I huffed down for a cuppa at 6ish the following morning....see later). As we were only staying the one night, we decided to stay put and just chalk it up to experience (and to do our research next time!). We all had a fairly early night but I was woken at 4am by the sounds of fairly loud 80s/90s music, and the voices of at least 4 people laughing and chatting over said music, coming from the room adjoining ours. One of the laughs resembled Jimmy Carr's which would have been irritating enough at any time of the day but even more so in the early hours. It was clear they'd come for an all nighter and showed no signs of throwing in the towel. I donned my flip flops (glad I brought those as the corridor carpet looked like it needed a good clean) at 4:45am and announced to my room mate that I was 'Off to have a word'. My roommate talked me down and I retreated back to bed. Anyway, the 'party' was still going strong when we left at 9am. We'd toyed with stopping for breakfast the previous day, but I think we all wanted to move on and forget the whole experience fairly quickly!
